Try thinking the same thing through from the other point of view, when the USA
entered Iraq, (some of) the inhabitants of Iraq may have considered the USA as
being "insane" for attacking them. However I think they would have tended to
take a more logical approach, and instead of the term "insane", would perhaps
have used the term "fanatical" instead, as "fanatical" more closely defines an
approach from a very stronly held belief, but where some form of reasoning
could be applied to the actions. Just look at all the suicide bombers around
these days, they are not all insane, but just very strong "fanatics".  

Insanity suggests a state of mind in opposiion to another mind but on a much
more dramatic scale, and insane people rarely group together for a common
purpose or action, they are much more likely to be loners. So true insanity can
only really be viewed from a majority position. Take 911 as an example, if you
insist that 6 "insane" people caused chaos within the USA, then you are
suggesting that the USA cannot identify and control insane people who group
together and execute a common plan. I just can't see that being an example of
insanity by any stretch of the imagination.

Did you ever see the movie "One flew over the cuckoos nest"? It was a
brilliantly powerful movie that took the viewers from exhilaration to despair.
IMHO the one "weaK" point in that movie was that the inhabitants of the asylum
"grouped together" for the boat trip and executed synchronised actions. Yes,
"insane" people could form into a group, but it would be extremely unusual to
have so many "insane" people interact as much as the film portrayed at that
point, however it was a point that could be glossed over because the message
was so powerful.

Nope, I am definately not saying that. They were lucid, intelligent people that
viewed their lives in a different way to you and I.

Again, you are only looking at it from the one perspective. By passing them all
off as "insane", you are simply rejecting the possibilty that someone else
might hold a different position to you. Reality suggests (to me at least) that
the world is comprised of about 5 Billion individuals, many of which happen to
form associations with other "like minded people". Even 250 Million USA
citizens are just a drop in that 5 Billion bucket, so it should not come as a
surprise to you to consider that possibly 4.75 Billion others may happen to
think different to you.

So if there was no "tat", then what triggered the event?

Thats why I put it in quotes, it was a "polite" way of aggregating people
present in this Echo into groups...
