Naw. 1983.  There were computers by then, but nothing but hobby systems with
something like 8k.  CPM.  Had to fix the CPM system used at SSC San Diego in
1989 and it was hard to remember that stuff by then.  Limited use machine, nit
networked.

No, people with access were users.  Plain and simple.

The Navy for a bit, had that going <G>. It was more easy for the dialup users
from home. Gosh, hadnt thought about that for years.  It didnt last long but
was called 'SALTS' (off telix script).  Theres still a system with the same
name but it's no longer remotely related.

Maybe.  Did I ever explain it though?  I've not done so in 5 years at the
least, probably 8 to 10.
