JS>>> I have already explained my reasons. I try not to make
JS>>> judgements because as you say one post does not a thread make. But I do
JS>>> respond to single posts frequently. You will notice too that I try not
JS>>> to referance or judge things beyond those in that particular message
JS>>> that I am responding to.

BF>> We have to agree to diagree then because I don't but your explanation
 BF>> that easy.

JS> If your unwilling to believe an honest answer then don't bother
 JS> asking the question.

What's bothering me is that you saw Roy's attack on us but reacted when I
asked him a simple question. I didn't even retaliate. I asked a simple
question.

JS>>> That is because I don't have one. What a concept. That is
JS>>> were we differ then. I don't have the time to wade through xx number of
JS>>> pointless name callig, game playing messages to respond to the one that
JS>>> will make those on both sides of an issue happy. I respond to those that
JS>>> I read when I read them. There is no Agenda.

BF>> Everyone have an agenda, so do I.

JS> Im happy for you then. Semantics aside, I am happy not having
JS> one. Less temptation to play peoples games.

Mine is to try to make this echo a bit more pleasant and make those who
constantly are patronizing others to stop what they are doing.

JS>>>>> Considering the BS level around here it would only seem
JS>>>>> like a reasonable course of action. I have neither the time or the
JS>>>>> interest to read all the messages that come in here. And no, I don't
JS>>>>> read all of either you or Roy's messages.
BF>>>> But somehow you managed to read my question to Roy....
 JS>>> Lucky you.
 BF>> Somehow I don't think so.
 JS> Gosh... Now that hurts.

From my POV you did shoot on the messenger and not the writer.

JS>>> There are a number of reasons why I may or may not read a particular
JS>>> message. Do you really want me to list them? Is it that big of a deal?
JS>>> Bottom line Björn, I am not singling you out in any way regarding what
JS>>> messages I respond too. I simply reply to those that I read when I read
JS>>> them. If warrented (By me) I may read a few prior messages but that
JS>>> doesn't mean that I will nessesarily respond to those prior messages. I
JS>>> know that you will likely look at that as selectivity. If it is it isn't
JS>>> for the reasons that you think or would like to suggest.

BF>> As I said, we have to agree to disagree.

JS> It's not a matter of agreement. You asked a question and I answered
JS> it by giving you my reasons. They are why whether you agree with them or
 JS> not.

Of course they are but I don't have to believe you.

JS> I have a Dell, a Sony, and a Micron. The Micron laptop is the oldest
JS> and I use it for HAM activities, DX logging, and programming the radios
JS> here, Etc. It also has a real RS232 serial port. Something that the
JS> manufacturer of the newer machines declined to include. My daughter has
JS> pretty well confiscated the Sony as hers. Until she (14YO) can earn to get
JS> her own. As a rule I build my own desktop PC's as I have found few
JS> manufacturers that build them to my liking. Most don't have the setup or
JS> hardware options that I would like.

When I bought this the wife took my Compaq 1.7 P4 laptop and her older
Compaq went to the youngest son because the motherboard in his doesn't
work any more.

JS>>> Then I have some learning to do then. When people better
JS>>> understand each other then something important has been accomplished.

BF>> I think (hope anyway) that I know everyone excep 2.

JS> Gee.. How many quesses do I get? <g>

Quesses? Sorry but I don't understand what you mean.

JS>>>>> I tend to overlook the BS
JS>>>>> and focus on the more serious stuff. What little there still is. You
JS>>>>> probably see that as selective reading on my part. It actually may be
JS>>>>> but not for the reasons that you suggest.

BF>>>> Yes, I do since, see above, you don't partitipate in anything else than
BF>>>> when America is being "attacked".

JS> Then stop attacking us USAians.

I haven't done that but there are one and sometimes two Americans that
constantly attacks Europe in particular and the world in general.

JS> You seem quick to attack and
JS> then say "Well, you made me do it" or words to that effect.

See above and latly I have just ignored their tries to push my buttons. If they
want to keep that childishnes up is up to them.

 JS> I think I have
JS> a realistic view of the strengths and weaknesses of my country. And yes I
JS> am willing to defend my country if attacked. I would expect no less of you
 JS> about yours.

Today it was a very interesting program on the radio WRT the 9 11 event and if
I
should take that up here I would be considered anti-American so I leave it but
we
aren't that patriotic as you are. Of course I would defend myself if someone
would
come here but I wouldn't do that fight in another country.
And it you want to criticize Sweden, be my guest, I can take it. What you
should
find strange I most likely would agree with but I guess that you don't know
much
about what's going on here since we're not the country that have anything to do
with the world economy or anything like it.

JS>>> Looks like you have some learning to do too. Huh?
BF>> The only one who can convince me about that it you.
JS> Then I will see what I can do.

Good.

  What you referance is
JS>>> the stuff nice intelligent coversations are made of. BS to me consists
JS>>> of things like name calling, swearing, game playing, baiting, bravado,
JS>>> needless sarcasm, etc. Some people seem to think that some of those are
JS>>> nessesary in order to communicate. I do not. You might get an occasional
JS>>> 'Damn' or 'Shit' out of me and an occasional attempt at being a
 JS>>> smartass.

BF>> That' how it should be. Pity that not everyone have gotten that.

JS> And I don't expect that everyone ever will. If things continue on
JS> as they are or get even worse here in Fidonet. I would suspect that people
JS> will continue the current trend.

I'm afraid of that too but it's just to ignore those who keeps it up.
