He helped me out too once.  I was trying to find the spot to edit to get my
then redhat 5.2 to dial my ISP and login automatically (modem dial).  He was
able to prod me just enough to remember which file needed to be edited
(etcconf I think was it?).

I used to work (long ago) as a nurses aide and saw it plenty.  I mostly worked
what we called the 'main medical floor' (as opposed to pediatrics or the
surgical floor).  Many stroke patients.  Many memories you bring back to me
thinking about it.

Not bad at all.  I've never tried to install the MP3 items.  I've written a few
scripts but am not very expert though I once did some extensive work with them
back between 1983-1986.  Sperry/Univac mainframe scripts for boot sequence.

I wouldnt call it easy but yes, powerful.  Been far too long ago for me to be
able to do much with it.  I used to 'talk assembly' somewhat too but only
recall some basics about 'pop int 21' by now.

Don had no numbness in the face but a little in one hand.  Mild level, it cured
itself over the following 2 weeks.

I had garnered someplace that you have mobility problems from a spinal injury.
I gather pain too eh?  Not fun.

Hehe yes, that would be me.  Soaking with sweat and glasses duct taped around
my head to keep them from falling off.

I was up on the mast again today redoing those same darn VHF whips.  My leave
ended and it's a duty section only day, but we had good weather and the guys
called me and asked if i was coming in and if so if I'd mind...  (grin).  The
VHF's arent nearly so bad as the fan-wires and their condition was better than
we thought so it only took 1 hour.

No duct tape required <g>.  I did have fun with it though.  I wore my best Xmas
socks over my pants.  You could see'em from all the way down on the flight
deck.  Billious red and green with spangles and fluffy white trim.  The rest
of me of course was 'uniform perfect' and the CDO (Command Duty Officer) didnt
say a word.  Just let his eyes sparkle a bit and shook his head.

BTW, if this seems impromptu that I was up there again today, it isnt.  I
mentioned it 4 days or so ago in the COOKING echo, that I'd be up there and we
were chatting about the weather and if it would be clear.  It was either today
or the 27th for the work and today was perfect so we knocked it out.  The
starboard side is now done for it's semi-annual (every 6 months) 'checkup'.  I
even got home about 9:30am.
