Which presumably was solved. Thereby not being a problem any more.

It is a very uncommon problem. There are 1.2 exp 25 possible "names" consisting
of sixteen letters and digits. That is one with 25 zeros. Enough to give
everyone who ever participated in FidoNet or any other FTN network a unique set
of 1 exp 17 (100 Tera) names to pick an echo tag from.

Yes, in the history of FidoNet, it has occured a few times that someone
accidetally choose a tag already in use elsewhere. Note that this only is a
problem if the distributions of these echos overlap. Fighting over an echo tag
when there are so many is just plain silly.
