BF> And I who thought they were humans who could do mistakes.

Not a day and a half's worth, for sure.

BF>>> Of course but they are over 200 employed and this time he should
install
BF>>> a fire-alarm at a factory and his colleague had to move to another
place
BF>>> so what should he do?

 RW>> So it's his colleague's fault.

BF> So the boss that ordered him to another job have nothing to do with it?
And
BF> the boss is the company and how does an employee go against the boss?

If that's the case, why is he in deep shit over it?

BF>>> Leave it half-finished when the time was out?

RW>> Inform whoever he answers to about the situation.

BF> As far as I know he did and when he did that they blaimed him for the
delay
and
BF> took that for a cause to fire him.

Maybe he wasn't doing what they told him.

BF>>> Being my own I know that sometimes it doesn't work out 100% but next
time
BF>>> it works out 120% and that is something that has to be calculated with.

RW>> So what you're saying is that he's an independant contracter?

BF> Uhhh....try to read it again.

"Being my own" ???

BF>>>>> We live in the Trollhättan area where SAAB is made and even they are
 BF>>>>> fireing people so.

RW>>>> Firing, or laying them off?

 BF>>> Firing.

RW>> How can that be when they're protected by a union. Aren't they the
RW>> ultimate saving grace for the blue collar working man?

BF> Obviously you haven't a clue about how it works with unions here and going
into
BF> details with you here in the echo isn't possible but any company can
 BF> fire people

Of course they can. But the union is there to protect the worker. If they
don't,
no need for the union.

BF> but have to go out with a notice first and then it is negotiations between
the
BF> company and the union that decides how many that have to leave and when.

You're leaving a lot out of this story.

RW>>>> Over-runs don't produce profits. No profits, no company, no
RW>> jobs...Unions are a drag on companies and their employees.

BF>>> Unions are a drag....? I suppose you mean that they help to make
 BF>>> companies to go bankrupt?

RW>> Matter of fact. They cause more problems than they solve.

BF> Perhaps that is your experience of it in USA but it sure isn't like that
here.

Probably not, since your unions don't protect their members.

BF>>> Normally the company and the union work perfectly good togheter and the
BF>>> union are there to make sure employees aren't abused.

RW>> The union and the company have a contract between them. Both sides know
RW>> what they can and cannot do within that contract. If there's no
contract,
 RW>> there's no union.

BF> As far as I know there exist no contract between the company and the
 BF> union here.

Then the company doesn't have to negotiate lay-offs with the union, they can
just do it.

BF> All is regulated by laws and the union is the one that look after the
 BF> employees rights
BF> and make sure that the company follows the law and when the company and
the
BF> union diagree it is up to a court to decide.

What a waste of time.
