RW>>>> Indonesia used to be a nice place, but it isn't anymore (according to
a
RW>>>> friend of mine who grew up there)
BF>>> Oh, so now you come up with hearsay.
RW>> If someone is raised in a country like Indonesia when all that existed
was
RW>> natives and WW2 relics, then it becomes industrialized, it can't be the
RW>> same country. I believe him.
BF> I'm raised in this country and have in some way been working for SAAB for
BF> about 30 years and you don't believe me about the situation when GM took
BF> over.
You don't tell the whole story...bits and pieces only.
RW>>>> The Republic of China is the mainland and it's not very nice.
BF>>> Oh, no hearsay so you have been in China.
RW>> Have you ever read a newspaper or watched a news program? China is in
the
RW>> news all of the time. Not a nice place to live, unless you like to be
RW>> controlled in everything you think, say or do.
BF> What's the difference betwwen that and Patriot Act? The princip is the
same,
BF> isn't it?
Not by a long shot.
BF>>> My piont is that you talk abot things you haven't a clue about and your
BF>>> open mind isn't as open as you claimed above.
RW>> That's the way it is, people with open minds see things that other
people
RW>> don't see. How many times have you been to China, again?
BF> None, and you? But if I want to make China look bad I can do that and if I
want
BF> to make China look good I can do that too. An open mind can also see that
BF> everything isn't as bad as you want to make it.
Ok, how about this. Are you aware that China's GHG emissions has increased 47%
since 1997, while the US GHG has only increased by 16% since that time?
(Felten's favorite subject, btw) Are you aware that China is building one coal
fired electricity generating plant every day, adding to the pollution that
Indonesia is putting in the air. Are you aware of the Chinese policy of
aborting
female fetus', while controlling average family size of 1.2 children per
family.
Almost all male, btw. Manufactured goods from China are less in quality than
those of Japan in 1946-56. And the Chinese have been working at it from the
same
time period. BTW, China and India are the world's worst polluters, yet the
Felten doesn't say a thing about it, while at the same time, chastising the
USA.
The USA is a signatory of the koyoto treaty and China and India aren't.
BF>>> Wasn't it you who didn't get to vote the POTUS?
RW>> Oh no, I voted my choice several times in every POTUS election. First
RW>> there is the 'state primary' election, where you vote for one of many
RW>> candidates. This is only a primary election where several candidates run
RW>> for the chance to be on the POTUS election ballot. In 2000, I voted for
RW>> someone other than GWB in the primary election.
BF> So there were one more to the right than GWB.....
Centrist. Until recently, he's been a centrist, but has back-slided to the
left.
BF> We vote one time and at that time we can vote for anyone we like and the
one
BF> that gets a majority of the votes win.
That's too bad. We get to select from several candidates in primay elections in
every state. Once there is a final selection from each party from those primary
elections, we hold a national election. The one who gets the majority of votes
wins. I say we have more choices than you.
BF>>> That was done by others.
RW>> Yes, about 31 million others.
BF> Only 10% voted for GWB, what a marority.
He got more votes than his predecessor. Yes, that's quite a majority. It was
definately more than 10%.
RW>>>> I milked the system once, back in 1970. I drew unemployment for a year
RW>>>> with two extensions and played on the beach or traveled up and down
the
RW>>>> coast of California, site-seeing for the entire time.
BF>>> So back then it was legal to do so but those who does it now are left
BF>>> wing whacos.....please explain.
RW>> I excercised my right to do as the left wing whackos do.
BF> So you are no better than those left wing wachos you blaim, ok.
Much better. I learned their methods, informed my congressman and he did
something about it.
RW>> What's good for
RW>> the goose has to be good for the gander too. Then again, what I did
wasn't
RW>> a permanent thing, just an experiment that was over a year later.
BF> A one year long experiment on others, the tax payers, expense......good.
No, I paid into the unemployment fund for years. I was entitled it.
BF> Something about having a foot in the mouth comes to my mind, wonder why?
You continuously put one in yours.
RW>>>> We have unemployment also, but many people work that into welfare or
RW>>>> disability payments too.
BF>>> So they can play on the beach and travel up and down the coast of
BF>>> California?
RW>> Or make lots of babys so they can get more welfare.
BF> If I were you I wouldn't toss so much shit on others.
Fortunately, you're not me. Unlike you, I don't froth at the mouth when someone
does something I don't like. i.e. I don't get mad, I just get even.
BF>>>>> Leaving no papertrail.....so it can't be checked later.... *I* think
RW>> so.
RW>>>> That happens only in some places, like Iowa or Nebraska.
BF>>> Never the less it did happend in the best democratic country in the
BF>>> world.
RW>> That's right.
BF> It appears that America isn't as perfect as you are doing it.
It's a game of averages. If we include our Svedish members, the US is 99.9%
perfect.
BF>>> Why didn't he listen to his own, CIA?
RW>> He did. They got their info from those other intelligence agencys.
BF> Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't CIA say that they didn't trust this to
100%?
Yeah, after the fact.
BF>>> Because it didn't suit his agenda so he had to lie.
RW>> The info he received backed up what he believed. When someone speaks
RW>> about things as presented to them to be facts, is not lying when one
RW>> speaks of them.
BF> Depends on whom you are listening to.
I'm sure you're an expert in the field of who's a liar and who isn't. Just like
Felten.
RW>>>> He's even stated publically that he was mis-informed,
BF>>> What else could he have done?
RW>> I could have done nothing.
BF> You?
He...
RW>>>> but taking out Saddam Hussein was the right thing to do...
BF>>> Why, what had he to do with it?
RW>> See the history behind UN Resolution 1441.
BF> Bull and you know it
Facts, and you know it.
BF> so if USA doesn't sign the Kyoto protocol those who did
BF> have the right to invade USA?
That's fucking rediculous. Where does it say in that protocol that a country
can
be invaded if they don't sign it? I see in that protocol - monetary fines, but
no invasion clauses.
BTW, the US has signed that treaty, in spite of what shit fer brains Felten's
says about it. (what you're looking for to make your argument is
'ratification')
Fortunately, we have leaders in this country who can read between the lines.
It's not in our best interest to ratify that protocol. Instead, we're in a
coalition that has no monetary fines for not reaching a goal set by idiots. Not
to mention no monetary fines for countries that are the worst polluters on the
planet, China and India.
RW>>>> One can only act upon the knowledge one has.
BF>>> Just as you above where you said that China isn't a nice place?
RW>> Just as you don't believe it is a nice place.
BF> With my open mind I don't know what to believe since I haven't been there
and
BF> just believing in Fox News is stupidity.
Oh that's right, you believe in all that other crap fed to you by inferior news
agencys. Talk about a closed mind.
RW>>>> None the less, you've been saying things that should make you feel
RW>> guilty.
BF>>> And you haven't?
RW>> Nope. My conscience is clear.
BF> You have to have a conscience first.....
I do...where's yours?
