Sorry for the delay in replying, things have been rather busy around here
lately........;-)

I saw that. I found it... disappointing to say the least.

No religous politian has ever made it big time here. Except for "local"
interests, religion and politics definately don't mix (IMHO).

I guess it stems from the impressions most of Arnold that most of us have built
up over his years in entertainment. Its hard for us to see him as being
serious... Turning that into something concrete is a bit hard to accept, but
then our vision of his current actions is probably tied to what is available
external to the USA, IE we dont always get to see the nitty gritty insides to
much of it.

Is CA considered a good barometer for general USA political feelings?

Bingo, you hit it in one, there is a direct way and then a better way.....;-)

Thats the "Saving face" scenario that the Japanese are famous for. I have yet
to run into it myself and although I am aware of it I think I would still find
it quite unusual at first.
