   Absolutely correct. Using black liquor from paper mills in wood rich
countries such as Canada, Sweden and Finland, making methanol rather than
ethanol, would be much more environmentally friendly. (And no, Robert, we do
not ferment the stuff, that would be like fermenting whiskey to get ethanol.)

   Yes, right again. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. I have this notion by the
pump, that it's pure ethanol I add, but you are absolutely correct, I should
have picked up my calculator to get the exact proportion.

   The only excuse I have is that I -- of course -- do not stand there by the
pump and mix it exactly. I start with an estimated 50% E85 and then fill it up
with regular 95. But since I don't know exactly how empty the tank is, it's
pure guesswork. Well, I think you get my drift?

   While I'm at it: when I claimed that I get the same mileage with my special
blend, I wasn't thinking of per litre but per Swedish Kronor -- that's the only
part on the pump meter that I'm really interested in -- so I was wrong there as
well.

   I really shouldn't tell y'all this secret, but, what the heck...

   Prices on collectors cars (over here meaning older than 30 years) in the USA
is just a fraction of those in Europe. That 450SL that I just bought for $6,995
plus circa $3,000 in total for shipping and VAT, I can easily sell for $15-20k
here in Sweden, should I ever want to.

   But I'll hang on to it, so no sale. I had a 280SL 20 years ago, but it was
destroyed when my neighbour set fire to his garage (my SL was parked just five
metres from it) to get a new one on his insurance. Ever since then, I wanted a
new one, but couldn't afford the European prices. Alas, now I've finally got
myself an M-B SL again!

   Ahem... For a Mercedes convertible there simply is no such thing as to much
resources wasted to get one. :)
