so... now we have more than one system having gotten the messages in question
with some in between having lost them somehow... that doesn't make sense... if
they were detected as dupes, they are marked as a dupes and they do not travel
further to reach other systems... this indicates that someone is flat out
lying, pure and simple... now the question is who...

@royW: how can bj passthru messages posted in this echo and still participate
in it?

@royW: this does not mean that those systems who are missing those messages may
not have caught them as dupes... at least one of my downlinks has fallen prey
to this very thing... i got the messages... my downlink doesn't have them on
their system... they definitely left here going to that downlink... are you
implying that someone is playing games with the seen-by control lines??

@royW: wrong... i can easily duplicate the situation of multiple messages
written in the same second with the exact same header info... i do not use her
software at all...

@royW: sure it does... it explains why some systems lost the messages and
others above them did not...

@royW: and how to you suppose that he performs this feat of magic? i'm not
aware of any mail tosser in fidonet that can perform this action as you
describe it...

but bj participates and doesn't get them while his downlinks do??? there's no
way... especially not when he responds to messages that he couldn't have gotten
if he had set up a one-way feed...

he has, actually, apparently refused to do so, too...

i do not recall what message base format bobS uses over there or what mail
tosser software... i seem to recall that it is gecho which means there are only
3 or 4 supported message base formats and a limited dupe detection database...
