HI Roy,

On Thu 2012-Apr-19 03:56, Roy Witt (1:387/22) wrote to Richard Webb:

Roy> Probably.

YEah I guess. I could find other things to complain about
on usenet, but then I read for content that's worth reading
anyway <g>.

RW> This computer clock is also set to utc. That's for a

I don't think I've ever bothered to set my computer clocks
to anything but utc.

<snip>
RW> Right, can see where it would be. I just ask a friend with
RW> a dx map, or if I should need it, consult the nodelist to

Roy> That was the confusing part for me. When it's ZMH in Europe and I'm

YEah can relate, I never had a problem though. Add 6 hours
to cst, 5 to cdt. Just one of those habits I got into even
before computers.

RW> Still it ensures than when I post a vessel to shiptrak the

I use the NIST, formerly nBS clock, same one drives WWV in
Colorado, dial it with my modem 3 times a week.

RW>> I see. None of my email recipients have complained about the time

 RW> UTC works.

RW> Yes, it does.

I never had a problem with it, keeps life simple.

RW> NOw if TImEd would just use the tzutc kludge without me
RW> having to do it manually. tz is set for my tic processor
RW> and maximus so tz environment variable is used here, but I

 RW> two.

Roy> Kludges...

Hunting through docs for timed, nothing yet, so we just do
the cut and paste thing. It works.

Regards,
           Richard
