Why?  Why should a moderator get to dictate what name a participant
must use in order to post messages?   That choice should be up to each
and every participant.  And that includes the right/privilege of each
and every participant to use an alias/handle of their own choice.

Sysops are requested (but not required) to use their real names when
applying to become a fido sysop.  Sysops (and moderators) are also
allowed to use an alias in all fido echos.  Since it is not required
for any individual to use his/her real name in applying to become a
fido sysop (as all applicants will be approved, including fictional
characters), and the use of an alias/handle is allowed for sysops
and moderators in all echos, why then are real names required for
non-sysops and non-moderators to post messages?

Can you give me a valid reason as to why the use of an alias/handle
should not be allowed for all participants?  Can anybody give me a valid
reason?  I can think of no valid reason.  And to date, nobody has been
able to give a valid reason.  The reason is because THERE IS NO VALID
REASON.

The "constitution" of fido is P4, and is recognized in all zones.
That makes it international.  Since there is no provision in P4 barring
participants from using an alias/handle, why do the fido powers that
be insist that only sysops and moderators have the right/privilege
to use an alias/handle in all fido echos, while denying all other
participants that same right/privilege?  It is an insane policy to
force any partipant to use his/her real name, whether that participant
be a sysop, moderator, or just plain participant.

participant should already have?

If that is not an extremely prejudiced point of view, I do not know what
is.

Where does it say such use of an alias/handle is off limits to anybody?
Just because a zone coordinator says only sysops and moderators can use
an alias/handle when posting messages is not a valid reason as to why
all other participants should be denied that same right/privilege.

It is an insane policy to deny all participants the right/privilege
to use an alias/handle when posting messages in fido.  Limiting that
right/privilege to sysops and moderators (while denying that same
right/privilege to others) shows an extremely bigoted and prejudiced
point of view.  Even more extremist would be for a moderator to insist
that nobody be allowed to use an alias/handle when posting messages.

Not yet, but with stealth technology I might never know.
Those Men In Black might come by, pick me up, and I'll never
be seen or heard from again.  So I'd best be careful in what
I say.  Or write.  Big Brother is watching me.  :)
