Hello Alexander,
RW>> It was hillarious how the USSR declared war on Japan after they had
RW>> already surrendered to the US' (sic) presence in Tokyo Bay... all
RW>> the USSR was doing at that time was an attempt to regain an island
RW>> lost to the Japanese in an earlier conflict between them in 1906...
AK>If you read a history book (not from the US)
With the exception of Howard Zinn.
AK>you'd learn that Japan capitulated on September 2, and the USSR
AK>declared war on Japan on August 8 (according to Yalta agreement).
The Japanese high command had offered to surrender a full month
prior to the atomization of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The US rejected
the Japanese offer of surrender, insisting on an total unconditional
surrender. After atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
it remained unclear if Japan would accept the terms of surrencder.
Emperor Hirohito had very strong misgivings about doing so, but we
all know what his ultimate decision turned out to be.
As a Russian, ask yourself this question -
What was the real reason as to why US President Harry S Truman chose
to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Remember, the Japanese
high command had already offered to surrender, a full month before.
The Japanese military had already been defeated, having no more navy,
air force, or army to speak of. Most major Japanese cities, including
Tokyo, had already been destroyed and reduced to rubble.
After the Japanese Emperor gave the order to surrender, the Japanese
high command complied, along with what remained of the Japanese
military. Keep in mind that part of the deal the US imposed upon
Japan was the Emperor had to renounce his own claim of being a living
god. However, the US and its allies missed an important detail.
AK>So, the USSR had a month of bloody war in Korea and China occupied
AK>by Japan.
AK>Do you really think that it was the US who defeated Japan in China
AK>and Korea?
Russians were wimps, choosing to fight Japan in China. The US
defeated Japan in Japan, atomizing two heavily populated cities
in the process. No other country in the world can lay claim to
doing that.
AK>The USSR lost almost 14 thousand troops in that 1 month war.
The US lost zero airmen dropping two atomic bombs from two different
airplanes on two different days in that one week war. Meanwhile, the
Japanese lost well over 100,000 innocent civilians in an instant ...
AK>Besides that, during the WWII, Japan made the USSR keep enormous
AK>amount of troops at Far East, weakening its army which fought with
AK>Hitler. For the USSR, it meant additional losses of lives. So,
AK>although Japan didn't actively fought with the USSR until 1945, it
AK>actually did fight with it indirectly, having provided big help for
AK>Hitler's troops.
Stalin had made a deal with FDR to wait a certain period of time
before acting in the Far East. We were allies during WWII. Even
friends, on rare occasions. However, Harry Truman was not FDR.
AK>That's why it is fair that Japan should have paid the USSR
AK>reparations in form of some islands which were captured by Japan in
AK>1906.
The Kiril Islands. Not many people live there. Not even sure
if there is any oil to be found in those parts. But the Japanese
do claim them, and have claimed them for centuries.
AK>The USSR didn't occupy Japan and had no other reparations.
The US occupied Japan for five years following WWII. The US occupied
Germany for ten years following WWII. Why did the US occupy Germany
for five years longer than Japan? Because the Russians were busy
trying to make Austria an appendage of the USSR. What happened in
Japan is similar, the occupation of the Kiril Islands being fallout
from WWII.
AK>More of that, until now there is no peace treaty between Japan and
AK>Russia. We are technically in the state of war.
The leaders of Russia and Japan meet from time to time, but relations
remain icy, all due to the status of the Kiril Islands.
RW>> Assad is classified just as Saddam Huisein was, a killer of
RW>> innocent by standers whose only crime is being in the vacinity.
AK>You must understand that killing 1400 civilians could not help
AK>him to win the war, in any way. That's why he could not do it.
AK>No reason. But some rebels do have reason to frame Assad.
Saddam Hussein claimed he did not order anybody to gas the Kurds.
It was one of his generals, who acted on his own, without his approval.
Unfortunately for Saddam, the court did not buy it, and he was hanged.
Bashar al-Assad, if ever he is brought to justice, will likely argue
along the same lines as Saddam Hussein. And the end result will likely
be the same.
But then, Saddam Hussein allowed himself to be taken alive. I doubt
that Bashar al-Assad will be that stupid, especially knowing the fate
that would befall him.
RW>> Although it is also quite clear that Putin is a whole lot smarter
RW>> than our stupid President, that isn't saying anything that we don't
RW>> know already. Fortunately we have a Congress that won't allow him
RW>> to do something stupid in Syria.
AK>Do the Americans see those "indisputable" evidences against Assad?
The evidence has not been publicly disclosed. As such, you'll just
have to take the US President's word for it.
AK>Or you take them on faith?
Sing it up, bro! In true Saints' fashion! "You gotta have faith!"
AK>The only "evidence" that Kerry said was that "chemical weapon cannot
AK>be produced by the rebels, so it means it was used by the government
AK>forces." It is a very poor logic.
The job of the US Secretary of State is to present the administration's
viewpoint. Even if those views are not his own.
ak>>> Most probably they will use it in future. And the only way to stop
ak>>> further escalation is to make both sides to negotiate without any
ak>>> preconditons.
RW>> I believe it would serve world peace much better if both sides were
RW>> equally armed and let them fight it out. Let Allah sort out the
RW>> good from the bad.
AK>You are mistaken. The longer a war lasts the more merciless fighters
AK>it produces.
The Israeli/Palestinian conflict has been going on for 65+ years, with
no end in sight. It is a low-level conflict, fallout from WWII. Will
peace ever be found between the Arab and the Jew? Only time will tell.
But the hope for peace remains, however dim it might seem at times.
AK>A war trains people better than any training exercises in
AK>peace time.
To do what? To expect more fighting and loss of life? How
depressing! No, my friend. All wars end. And it is the end
of war that trains people to celebrate. To celebrate life,
for all it is worth.
AK>So, in short time, Israel, for instance, will find itself
AK>surrounded by thousands of fighters, capable to crawl up to
AK>everywhere and kill and poison everyone, not sparing their
AK>own lives.
Gee. That is exactly what Jews said in 1947. So the British
armed them, And trained them. And helped them remove Arabs from
Arab lands when the United Nations partitioned Palestine into two
separate countries - one for Jewish Palestinians and one for Arab
Palestinians. Of course, the status of Jerusalem remained a part
to be decided at a later date.
Since the partition of Palestine, how many wars have been fought
between the Arabs and the Jews? Which side started each of those
wars? And on whose land were those wars fought?
Who owns the land? The original inhabitants own the land.
The Jews claim the land is theirs because God gave it to them.
The Arabs claim the land is theirs because Arabs were there first.
Perhaps it could be the Arab God gave the land to Arabs in the
same way the Jewish God gave the land to the Jews. Who knows?
All I know is the Cajun God gave Cajuns their own Promised
Land ...
AK>To fight among civilians becomes their profession.
Arab terrorists and Jewish terrorists fought together against
the British in Palestine. Terrorists such as Menachim Begin ...
AK>When they capture some Israeli towns the Israeli will understand
AK>what does it mean to fight among civilians, when enemy fighters ran
AK>from one place to another through walls, and use civilians as a
AK>shield. But if in Gaza the Israeli bombed them anyway (they are all
AK>Arabs, after all), what will they do when civilians be Israeli
AK>children and women themselves?
If the Arabs (and Persians) ever want to defeat Israel, there is an
easy way to do it - let Israel destroy itself. Just leave Israel
alone, allowing Israelis to feel snug and secure, and watch it happen.
But that will never happen. Not in a million years. Or a billion.
Arabs are stupid and will never understand the way of the Jew ...
