What sort of accomplishment would that be? By then a lot of states had
lotteries. She had many examples give her that idea. And it probably `wasn't'
her idea exclusively, anyway.

Are you saying that, before Ann Richards came along there wasn't any `public
financing' of school districts in Texas?


And before you go off about state money to schools, let me point out that when
`democrats' increase spending for schools it almost always translates into
`more money for teachers and teacher's unions', and very little changes `where
the rubber meets the road'! That is to say student achievement doesn't go up,
only teachers' salaries, benefits, and retirement packages.


Besides, according to SAT scores...Texas students aren't doin' real good. So
instead of putting more of that money Richards pushed into the pockets of
teachers and teacher's unions....maybe she shoulda put it into hiring some
teachers who know how to teach!

If you're talking about motor vehicle insurance, Texas didn't have any sort of
lock on that. Both Arizona and California were states that, for many years,
the only time you needed motor vehicle insurance was if you had an accident.


And Richards wasn't `the one' who came up with that idea anyway. Back when she
was elected governor of Texas (1990? there was already a nation-wide push to
make every state require auto insurance. California's coompulsory motor
vehicle insurance law came back in 1989 or 1990. So did a lot of other states.
Ann Richards had pretty well nothing to do with it. It was mainly the National
Safety Council and several members of the U.S. Congress that pushed compulsory
motor vehicle insurance nationwide.

Thats funny....I always thought her biggest problem was her big mouth, and her
main talent for throwing insults in place of any real sensible `discussion'.

She lost because she couldn't `discuss' the important issues of the day. She
didn't know how. She only knew how to insult and disparage. She was a one-
termer who took her `act' on the road after her political life tanked, and
tried to regain some meaning to her life by insulting George W. Bush non-stop
during the 2000 presidential campaign.


Of course....she was probably still pissed off about Bush defeating her in a
landslide when she ran for re-election for governor.


After 4 years of her insults, failed policies, lies, distortions, and
spendthrift ways, Texas had had enough of her and she lost by a huge margin.

There are many more sources of news than Breitbart's site. And I use them all.


Keith Olbermann isn't exactly the last word in information. Nor is Piers
Morgan or Rachel Maddow.

Maybe you need to get away from those three's constant litany of idiocy, and
read some REAL news.
