My point is they created those characters to fit the mold of a typical southern
Louisana backwoods "country folk".  Did I say there was anything wrong with
them?

Only script I follow is that what the Lord said, Love thy neighbor as yourself.
 It's taken from the book that most religious zealots like to quote, Liviticus.

I tolerate all views as long as it's not a view that goes against the rule I
stated above.  Phil wasn't following that rule when he made his statements. He
was in a way, bearing false witness. Another strike.

Oh really?  Then why even state them in an interview?  If everyone knew his
views then why the interview?  If he would have come out and said he doesn't
believe in homosexuality yet will be tolerent of those who are then I would
have had more respect for the man and his "views".  Plus ther are many others
who's views are quite positive with regard to gay and lesbians yet their views
aren't tolerated by the right wing. Case in point, Robertson's statement in the
interview.  Was there tolerance?

No, the only script I follow as stated above is to treat and love a neighbor as
one would expect to be treated and loved.  Stray from those words and I'll say
something about it.  Again, if Phil was trying to evangelize then he should
have taken the same path as the Lord.

Did you ever see me make that statement? Probably not.  So your point is moot,
hypocrisy and all.  BTW, wasn't he impeached over that matter?  Clarence is
still sitting on the bench isn't he? See how hipocrisy works??

Preaching the anti-smoking line in a helpful way, not a problem.  Preaching it
in a way where you chastize and discredit the other person saying his smoking
will one day lead to beastility or some other derogatory remark is something
completely different. As your boy Timmy would say, your gotcha moment failed
miserably.

Sure he can, just as long as he follows the rules handed down by the very
Person he's preaching for. Stray from those rules and you're not following the
Lord's way thus he should be chastized over his remarks.  Hopefully he has seen
the errors of his ways and became a better man for it with a better
understanding.    

You see Ross, when you become a public figure you are bound by certain
guidelines regarding what and who you portray.  No one has an issue on how he
feels about homosexuality but the issue lies in the way he said it .  Is that
so hard to follow?
