Actually, Ben volunteered to be the EK of his own volition, as did LaCosta
and the person he replaced when that person, Adrian Walker left Fidonet.

What you're saying is untrue.

For reasons known by LaCosta and myself and maybe a handful of others
here, I refused to list my echoes with his Echolist. Even so, all of my
echoes have been moved by the NAB and other backbones throughout Fidonet
without being echolisted (all you have to do is ask them to move it). All
the echolist (EK) did was to compile a list of echoes for those who chose
to list them.

The EK is not affiliated with backbone operations. He never was and
neither is the present EK.

What you're thinking of used to be a requirement by an ancient backbone
system that doesn't exist anymore.

They do? As I recall, the Z1 version is dated from Jan-02 and represent
the days before it and which are the rules that were in force long
before these were compiled. What you're referring to is the addition of
the rule by the then moderator that puts the burden of listing the echo
with the Echolist.

BTW, due to the incompetence of the present Z2 (ahem) moderator, who
failed to list it and thus, as echolisting an echo was intended to stop,
it was elisted by another. As is this echo, as far as that goes.

Today we have a controversy where the Z2 moderator thinks his mandate is
to be the 'king' of FN-SYSOP vs the Echolisted Moderator. If an election
were held, as the rules intended to happen every year, we wouldn't have
this bullshit to contend with. This is your fault, since you were among
the leaders of those who would rebel against the rules.

What you're doing is spreading ancient Z2 propaganda perpetrated by
Felten or Vlist, both well known as spreaders of rumor and lies in all
zones.
