Both the elist and echolist echoes are in the public domain. Even you can
read those two echoes. LaCosta's elist node number is/was in the weekly
distributed nodelist as well as his own net261 node number.

Correct, other than it was recognized by the ZC1, who gave him/it a Z1
nodenumber in the nodelist.

Also true with one esception: The echolist (no matter who the person is
that maintains it) has a node number.

Actually, election is a misnomer, it should have been said that it was a
natural 'selection' process by the moderators to list their echoes with
the echolist.

Well, it does have some recognition by certain people who maintain the
nodelist, but there is nothing in Fidonet Policy that requires an
echolist. And that's the beauty of it...

Unfortunately for you, recognition as a moderator of your own echolist
doesn't do much but provide you with a reason to have skid marks in your
shorts. I could give you a clue how to get your echoes distributed, but
you probably know someone who can do it for you and get it right the first
time.

Not! There were several people who vied for recognition by the moderators
at the time (1997=98). LoCosta beat all of them by offering his elist
services for free and moderators listed with his service, shunning the
others, some of who had a better system, but were like you, untrustworthy.

I'd say you're even moreso full of shit. The vote was (however many
moderators who listed their echoes):0...

Wrong again, as usual.

Thom's successor, Ben Ritchey, volunteered his services, just like Thom
did. Ben was/is the NC of net393 and remains listed as such while
maintaining a listing as Elist Keeper, just like Thom did.

It was no big deal to me and I listed my echoes with Thom at first, then
declined to list them later on. When Ben became the new EK, I relisted my
echoe and some that LaCosta called his own, keeping the Amateur Radio
groups in one family.

If the person who claimed to be the Fidonews Editor had been capable
enough to list it, then there wouldn't have been any means to make oneself
the moderator. Leaving the door wide open imperils the position/title of
moderator and somebody has to pick up the slack.

North American distribution systems use the echolist to determine who the
listed moderator of an echo is; so there can be no mistake in any request
to 'blacklist' certain known trouble makers from an echo. You among them.

Vest was a moron who should have been castrated for fucking up Fidonews
as we knew it.

No he did not! He 'attempted' to list it, but he was too incompetent to
get it right and Jack Yates was one of the first to list it himself. When
he quit fidonet, he passed the echotag password onto someone else.

Felten is not recognized as the editor of anything that is published
without content, aka MT. Not having an echolisting showing that he
updates the echolisting, he is not the moderator either.
