I'm afraid your grasp of Catholic doctrine regarding war is somewhat lacking.
See paragraphs 2307 - 2317 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church for more
detail, but briefly, there is indeed a doctrine of "just war", which Pope
Francis has referred to in recent days.

This is not to gainsay the words of Pope Paul IV or Pope John Paul II - war is
to be avoided if at all possible, and wars don't solve the problems that are
their own root cause - but war in the defense of the weak is in some cases a
moral requirement.

From the Catechism, paragraph 2309:

The strict conditions for legitimate defense by military force require rigorous
consideration. The gravity of such a decision makes it subject to rigorous
conditions of moral legitimacy. At one and the same time:

 - the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations
must be lasting, grave, and certain;

 - all other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be
impractical or ineffective;

 - there must be serious prospects of success;

 - the use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to
be eliminated. The power of modern means of destruction weighs very heavily in
evaluating this condition.

 - These are the traditional elements enumerated in what is called the "just
war" doctrine.

 - The evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the
prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good.

I certainly respect your right to an opinion that differs from mine (and I'm
still unsure if the doctrine of just war applies to the current situation), but
if you're going to start quoting Popes, best to do so in context, don't you
think?
