Society is part of a culture.  Not the other way around.
Rape is a crime of violence, not of passion.  It makes no
difference where the act occurs, as it remains an act of
violence.

Rape is about violence, having nothing to do with passion or
the consumption of alcohol.  Okay, the consumption of alcohol
might make somebody become violent, but that is not what you
are trying to argue.  You are trying to say the more one drinks,
the more passionate one becomes.  The drunker one is, the more
passionate one becomes.  IOW, total hogwash and nonsesne.

Most people who get drunk (whether deliberately or not) never
commit acts of violence (such as rape, murder, etc.).  But some
do.  Does that mean that alcohol should be banned, as it once
was in the US?

Most rapists are not drunk when they commit acts of violence,
as proven during Prohibition.  Of course, once caught and locked
up behind bars, rapists can commit all the acts of violence they
want against themselves, under proper supervision.  As long as
they are sober and remain sober, that is.

There are some women rapists out there.  And they are just
as violent as men rapists.  Acts of violence are committed
against both men and women, by both men and women.  That
has nothing to do with whether anybody is drunk, or has been
drinking.

Most (if not all) pedophile Catholic priests were sober when
they raped all those altar boys.  Most (if not all) of those
Catholic bishops who covered up their crimes were sober at
the time they covered it up.  Most (if not all) of the popes
who knew about it were sober and did their best to keep it
all hidden.

There have also been pedophile non-Catholic ministers, and
pedophile Jewish rabbis, and pedophile Muslim imams, and
pedophile teachers, and pedophile fill-in-the-blanks.  All
of them rapists, having committed acts of violence against
the innocent.

The point is, none of these acts are acts of passion.
All of them are acts of violence.

I hardly view the act of rape has having anything to do with
passion, as it is an act of doing something (usually in a
very violent manner) against the will of another person.

they have?  You don't really believe that, do you?  I mean,
think it out.  Ask yourself this question -

Do you beat your meat?
