Among certain age groups, and gender, yes it is.

Not at all high schools, but many more than in times past.
However, not so many colleges are picking up the sport, even
though the cost of doing so would be minimal.

The real problem is that Americans have been brainwashed to believe
that only their own brand of football is important.  Remember, we have
been brainwashed since the time we were born ...

Except for "Monday Night Football" ...

King James is doing fine in the NBA ...

Our best player (Donovon) was left off the team for World Cup play.
Why?  Because the coach was a total doofus.  Look at what happened.
We lost to Germany, as expected, the game being close only because
our goalie put up the best performance in his entire career.  We
then lost our last match to Jamaica, in the semifinals, having been
very fortunate just to get to that point of our last tournament.
How embarrassing.  Now we have to play Mexico, and win in order to
qualify for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

Yeah, the coach was fired after that fiasco.  Losing to Jamaica.
On our own turf.  Such a thing hadn't happened to the USA in decades.
But it was our own fault.  We hired a German to coach our team.

Of course, that was the men's team.  Our women's team is much better.
And smarter.  Actually won the World Cup.  More than once.  :)

We play clean, and never cheat.  Don't believe me?
Just ask Tom Bradie.  He's an innocent man, I tell you.

Oh.  That's American football.  Sorry.  Europeans don't
have any balls.

They are on a 10-city tour, playing various opponents.  Not only
do they play a very good game, but they win championships!

The US men's team tried that approach by hiring a German coach.
That didn't work out very well.  Better to try a new approach.
One that works.  For us.  Rather than for Europe, Latin America,
and everybody else.
