No, no, no, no, no!  You've got it all wrong!  That is *NOT*
what Björn is or has been saying (or implying)!

Jesus railed against the religionists of his day.  Why?  Because
the religionists had hijacked the Jewish religion to suit their own
evil purposes.  The religionists themselves probably thought they
were doing good, rather than evil, but that misses the point.

There are two things that Jesus talked about most during his
public ministry.  The thing he talked about most was the kingdom
of heaven.  The other thing he talked about was money.  Nothing
else seems to matter, or pales in comparison, given the gospel
accounts.

The religionists opposed Jesus for what he said and did.  Palestine
was populated by Jews.  Jesus was Jewish, the people were Jewish, the
religionists were Jewish.  Romans were occupiers, and not part of the
population, and as such was not the audience Jesus was addressing.
That is why Romans did not oppose Jesus, or seek to curtail his
activities.

Why did he rail against the priests or priestly order of his
day, rather than seek dialogue?  Actually, he did seek dialogue,
but only in an open forum rather than behind closed doors.

We all know what happened to Jesus two thousand years ago.
The religionists got mad at him, formed a lynch mob, and had
him pegged on a tree, in true Roman fashion.

Not that anybody knows how Romans went about crucifying people.
Jews did it, too.  And other peoples.  But Romans made it famous.

Every year, on Good Friday, an event is held in the Philippine
Islands.  A small handful of idiots get themselves pegged to a
tree, in true Roman fashion, as an expression of their faith.

One American who was in his early 20's did that stunt a few
years ago and wrote about his experience.  He said it "hurt like
hell" and that there was no way he would want to do it again.

As far as I know, nobody has died as a result of getting themselves
crucified in the Philippine Islands.  But then, from what I understand,
Filipinos use tiny nails ...
