Ross asked Ed as "elisted" moderator of the Fidonews.
Ed wrote a message in the Fidonews acknowledging that he
had curtailed Tim's access to the Fidonews based on a request
made to him by the "elisted" moderator of the Fidonews.
Now do the math and figure it out for yourself.
There is only one "elisted" moderator of the Fidonews.

Ross Cassell is not the moderator of the Fidonews.
The real moderator of the Fidonews welcomes Tim's participation
in this echo, and has said so many times.  Whatever gives you
the boneheaded idea "it is up to the sysop to honour or not
honour the request"?  Ross Cassell had no legitimate authority
to ask, much less order, access to the Fidonews be curtailed
to Tim, or anyone else!

Yes, it is.  Not just by Ross, but also by Ed, since both
parties were fully aware from the get-go it was all a fraud.

That was confirmed by Ed Koon, in a message written by him
in the Fidonews.  Feel free to find it.  I won't bother, as

It is not missing.  Just hidden.  But it's still there.

to wade through in order to find it.  For those who have archives,

Anybody can make a request.  That does not mean said request
should be granted.  In most cases, such a request should be
ignored.  Even if made by someone with legitimate authority.

A bartender does not need a reason to refuse service.
However, in this case, Ross Cassell was not the bartender.
This might have been Ed Koon's bar, but Björn Felten was
the bartender.

Ed Koon could have closed the bar.  That was his choice.
But curtailing somebody's access because some stranger told
him to is not a valid excuse.

Maybe that is too dense for you to understand.

An individual pretending to be the moderator of the Fidonews
made a request to Ed Koon to curtail Tim Richardson's access to
the Fidonews.

Whether that request was legitimate or not is irrelevant.
The pretender was not, and is not, the moderator of the Fidonews.

Ed Koon should have ignored the pretender's "request" out of hand.
But he chose not to do so.  Why not?  My guess is because Ed did not
want to find himself on the bad end of the pretender's stick.

On the other hand, it could have been a conspiracy.
All part of a vast right-wing conspiracy ...
