i have read further... your rant turned into "you're the RC! why didn't you do
this or that?!"

bullshit! you ARE dealing with a NC when you poll 1:140/0!

so what? the new applicant was apparently referred to bobS for processing or
further referral to another NC... since bobS is the RC for that region covering
that applicant's area, bobS had three choices to select from...

 1. he could place new applicant as regional independant
OR
 2. send them to a(nother) NC in his region
OR
 3. add them to his net140 since he's also a NC

apparently he chose option 3 but there was some kind of problem with the
applicant being able to pick up the netmail that was supposed to be waiting for
them... perhaps there was a domain matching error as has been seen before?
perhaps the netmail hadn't been scanned out and packed up yet?

i don't know bobS' setup over there but i know that getting netmail out of mine
and into binkd requires several hoops to be jumped thru... in my personal case,
i leave everything alone and don't try to manually force things out because i
know that at the top of the hour, my mail processing will run and it will
handle those hoops and get the netmail into binkd /IF/ that destination address
is configured as a binkd connection...

so knowing how convoluted my setup is, i can easily see others in a similar
situation... especially if they are running two dis-similar mailers like i
am... so calm down and open up to the possibility that things aren't as "easy
and straight forward" as some systems can be... hell, i remember watching max
fighting the hell out of synchronet trying to get netmail to work... several
hours of fighting... and then suddenly, it hit that sbbsecho was refusing to
run because there were no echos defined... WTF?!? once an echoarea was defined
and configured, then netmail worked... good lord you should have heard the
language and ranting that came from that particular discovery... so not
everything is as easy as one might think in all cases ;)
