Ärende: FTSC Election thoughts

It happens. We wil simply 'agree to disagree' here on this one. I'll
explain why below.

 > CS> All Bjorn had to do was have another vote collector for his region
 > CS> FTSC vote.

You have to place some trust in the membership. Nothing 'enforces' an RC use
the region votes on this, nor tells them how to go about it. An RC who is
running though and uses a proxy site (REC if they have one etc) to cast it,
has removed the issue of voting for self and turned it over totally to the
sysops of their region.

In my long ago case, I made it clear who would 'vote' and then 'ratified' the
same netmail unchanged except to add it was the RC13's vote (was not sure
they would accept it unless i did that).

Agreed. Also sometimes even though you 'ask' you get no feedback from your
region.

Easy way out. As we grow smaller, I think some of our more capable folks are
going to crop up there.

 > CS> Your biased stance is entirely blatent.
 >
 > Everyone who expresses an opinion is biased. Are you denying me the right to
 > express my opinion?

No, but you have a habit of looking at the FTSC as only what 'you' term a
techie sort and the world is a little wider and so are our needs. We cant
get anywheres if the only folks left here, just want to work cyrillic code
pages. Important yes, bt it's not everything we are involved in.

Sometimes we need badly input from folks like Ross Cassell who may not fit
your apparent ideas of what the FTSC members 'should be'. That is what I
meant by 'blatent'.

Here's another one. I have never claimed to be a programmer here. I've
often said i cant program my way out of a wet paper bag with 3 sides ripped
open. Reason? My skill set doesnt apply. I am a SQL programmer. I have
no skills in C+ , pascal, or even xml etc.

I could do some pretty nifty stuff with the comma delimited nodelist if i had
a need but it's not that useful to fidonet as a whole. If one of you comes
up with something that needs that, let me know ok? I can't see any
application where my skills apply there so didnt mention them. It was kinda
like saying i also recall keypunch card cose or can translate EBCIDC or
translate CRC codes hashed off 7 bit ascii manually by looking at it.
Irrelevant here.

So you know that environment angle? Might want to widen the screen size to
see more of it. You might be suprised at what was hidden? I ask *only* that
you ask first to see what is going on. Form opinions based on replies not
presumptions. Fair enough?
    xxcarol
