Never bothered to examine it so I cannot say but had I tweaked that driver
I'd be a happier camper today.

Well sure, I remember however you attempted yet more generousity
by offering a SECOND Matrox card and I'm not a pan handler having
lost the first through messed up circumstance.

Now if I were in again in the position to resume gainful employment I'd
be another matter.

OTOH, a local schizophrenic who also had suffered a stroke who I
casually befriended and who dives dumpsters to get by actually found
the SAME USR Robotics modem the landlord at my previous place had tossed.

I'd offered him ten bucks for any usable computer tower he might 
find in his wanderings.

You put it better than I could, the Nvidia card is something like 
25 percent as good as the Voodoo 3.0 AGP card I had in the Gateway.

I ALWAYS listen to you but charity is very difficult for me.
I wasn't really that prideful when I was setup to start my own business before
the BS 
arrest, you know the one circulated on the web and fidonet identifying me as
CONVICT 
that never mentions the fact the charges were dismissed.

That realistically blew my chances of rejoining the work force for the 
forseeable future :-(

When I'd been that close to getting off the SSDI I am rightfully entitled to
then lost everything my old stubborness about accepting charity returned.

I'm getting sick and tired of all the vulnerabilities inherent in
the KDE desktop and Firefox.

Just today I got a flash screen that offered a Mozilla Firefox addon
while browsing wired.com but it wasn't an authorized one, goes by the 
name of share.
Share what?
My entire computer or a keyboard logger to share my online banking info?

ESC didn't get rid of it in the foreground and ALT - F4 didn't just 
close that bait but Firefox as well.

I had a binary stuck in my /tmp file from another recent attempt to 
subvert my machine  that executed on boot with the prompt, Enter 
root password to repair files.
Came back on every reboot and halted Linux loading until I thought to hit
CNTRL - C and normal loading resumed.

Then I went to /tmp and deleted anything I was unfamiliar with
and after that no problems on boot.

Yeah baby there' risk attendent to just hitting play video
as just as most leave a nonsense named residually copy  
of that flash in /tmp, one also left a binary.
I guess "play video" also allowed it to put that binary there.

Also I was highly berated about my offering up the idea Flash
could *easily* be used to subvert security and that it had in my case
three years ago but then certain indivuals told me I was paranoid
however just a week or so back slashdot.com published that same exact 
vulnerability I caught onto 3 years ago.
I can't wait for HTML5 to arrive and be through with Flash altogether.

Once I get a few more neurons firing I'll be able to use Links for everything.

I guess I pretty much dispise everything that come out of Adobie from PDF
readers to Flash.
Bloat and insecure.

There's a current work around for the Flash where there's a site that 
converts it to .mp4 and also I could convert it here locally as well
but the next 94 days is dedicated to do what's required to move north.

I only wish I had time for and the resources to get another clam shell
rigid back brace for that as though I hate the things they do 
offer some extra mobility at the expense of considerable discomfort from 
wearing one.

I BROKE my first one five years ago tightening the thing so hard it came 
apart when I next inhaled.
