=============
Hello Stephen.

21 Nov 09 20:24, you wrote to me:

Silly it is, if I remember correctly "sudo bash" gets you a root shell, and
"password root" gets you your normal root account back if you really want it

SH> 16 GB Hard Disk (SSD): 9.7 GB Encrypted (/home); 4.3 GB Encrypted
 SH> (/usr/share); 2.1 GB Encrypted (Swap)

Looks about right ....

No indicator that I have seen, not that I have gone looking for one, just
options to that give you three options, sorry I cannot right now give you what
they say, but one gives you full speed, the other slower speed and hibernate I
think, my one has just vanished from the task bar, it seems to do that since I
updated the distro ... <sigh>

 RT>> Mine is a EeePc 700 with a 2Gig SSD and 512M RAM ... , also with

Nope, RAM is soldered to the main board ...

SH> As has yours. My EeePC has been quite valuable since I became a
SH> student again. It is a lot easier to carry than my older Compaq
 SH> Presario.

For my sins, I am chairperson of trustees, of the sectional title complex
where we live. I had request the Portfolio Manager at or managing agent to
e-mail me so data, and many promises where made but not delivered upon - while
visiting hthem at their premises, I hauled out the EeePc and checked my e-mail
quickly and was able to say, "Sorry, but I have yet to recieve it ... " that I
couldd use their network to check my mail was also not really appreciated
,VBEG>

Needles to say, the requirred data was very quickly found, and e-mailed, after
which I checked my e-mail again, recieved it, and thanked them for being able
to plug my "'puter" into their network. <VBG>
