Thanks, Ed.  Mine would probably be alright as I use the latest linux T'Bird
but Barb uses the Windows version in her XP vBox, and I can't always get to
hers first.

Well, I don't scribble down notes to be lost later.  I prefer to create screen
capture files, that can be lost later.  :)  Try [Alt]+[PrntScr] sometime, Ed.
You can grab the image from the clipboard with your favourite graphics program
(Paint or PaintShop Pro, or similar).

I have screen captures of all my important vBox-ed PCs.  So long as I have a
vBox's virtual HDD (its *.vdi file) then I can always re-create a vBox with the
settings viewable in the screen capture.  Simple.

You run the action from your created vBox, using the 'Devices' menu option on
your vBox.  Have a look for the User Manual in .PDF form.  It may be in your
"Program Files" directory, or, even on the VirtualBox website.  Have a look for
Section 4, "Guest Additions".  :)

Well, here's a quick sticky-beak at the main points:

* Mouse pointer integration

To overcome the limitations for mouse support that were described
in chapter 1.8.2, Capturing and releasing keyboard and mouse, page 19, this
provides you with seamless mouse support. You will only have one mouse pointer
and pressing the Host key is no longer required to 'free' the mouse from being
captured by the guest OS. To make this work, a special mouse driver is
installed in the guest that communicates with the 'real' mouse driver on your
host and moves the guest mouse pointer accordingly.

* Shared folders

These provide an easy way to exchange files between the host and the guest.

* Better video support

* Seamless windows

With this feature, the individual windows that are displayed on the desktop
of the virtual machine can be mapped on the host's desktop, as if the
underlying application was actually running on the host.

* Generic host/guest communication channels

* Time synchronization

With the Guest Additions installed, VirtualBox can ensure that the guest's
system time is better synchronized with that of the host.

* Shared clipboard

* Automated logons (credentials passing)
