Yep. That's all the evidence they need.

 RC> A. Linux Box

 RC> C. WinBox 2

You mean you have a network where WinBoxen and Linux boxen actually talk with
each other? You want to get some BIOS virus or something?

RC> My reading node is on C, with its own unique node number.

That can't be! It has to be Linux or you'rw nothing but a lazy 'doze user.

RC> I access all of that from Box B via ssh sessions.

Just to confuse Maurice, eh?

MK>>> You can keep all of those. Those were meant for Windows users

 EH>> Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

RC> Maurice is being no more anal than we used to see come from OS/2 users.

Heh heh... I used to be one of those OS/2 users. I have since repented.

RC> He paints himself as a purist, but he shouldnt put himself to judge
RC> unless he is willing to be judged.

In the light of day his judgements don't stand up well.

EH>> I was running Slackware back in 95 and have run Debian, Red Hat and
 EH>> Suse since then.

RC> Since I use my linux box nearly exclusively at the console prompt, I
RC> fail to see his disdain?

The only differences from one distro to another is where they store various
files. From the command prompt all you can see is what shell you are using and
whether you are logged in as root or user.

RC> His buddy Wayne eagerly admits using X and if I am not mistaken he
RC> gleefully admits using KDE. You might remember Wayne trying to educate
RC> Mimi Gallandt with alt-ctrl-fx buttons to press to get back and forth
 RC> from X to a console.

Yep, in his eagerness to sound knowledgable, he put his foot in his mouth.

RC> Seems Maurice is being selective in his criticism?

You got it. He was able to impress Wayne into attempting to work from the
command line, but of course, Wayne is weak of mind.

EH>> Your unreasonable hatred for M$ users is duely noted and considered
 EH>> humorous.

RC> Forgive Maurice, he thinks he is the great decider for us all.

That's how he sounds.

RC>>>> My usage of Linux will not be measured by your standards and
RC>>>> yes, I do have Chirnside beat in the Linux dept.

 MK>>> I seriously doubt that.

EH>> And your supreme judgement is devined to you... how?

RC> Because unlike Wayne, I have not spouted off to him about my adventures
RC> compiling programs or using mplayer.

Exactly. He no more knows how conversant you are with Linux than the man on the
moon.

In Wayne's case, he is trying to impress Maurice that he is one of Maurice's
disciples.

RC> My linux box is 100% setup and configured, I dont need to consult anyone
RC> about it, Like Wayne does.

Same here. When I run into something I am not sure of, I know how to research
it without relying on the advice of someone whose knowledge is questionable.

MK>>> I've never seen the attraction in any of that crap.

EH>> Good for you. Win3.1 was well over a decade ago. Also, just how did
EH>> Win3.1 take down a LAN. Win3.11 was the network aware version.

RC> Thats ok, Maurice hates DOS too!

Heh heh... a true believer.

Ed
