That's what happened.  Killed the entire eCS setup on that drive.

At the moment, GRUB, like the rest of Linux, is installed on thee slave drive
(after I finally managed to do a crash restore of eCS - I'd backed up before
trying to install Ubuntu) - we disconnected the master drive and installed
Ubuntu totally to the slave, then reconnected the master drive.  So, I don't
need to install Ubuntu again - I'm just afraid that booting to it could mess
things up.  As I said, Airboot (the bootloader I'm using) recognizes the slave
drive as Linux, and the GRUB partition as bootable.
