  The Thunderbolt BBS, GT Power 035/005, FIDO 1:382/33, Little Rock,
Arkansas...is back online...after electrical problems shut it down Jan.
1st...what a lousy way to start the New Year!!

  Late on Dec. 31, one of the apartment circuit breakers began repeatedly
tripping...and it made the monitor look like it was in an earthquake!! So, I
went ahead and disconnected everything from the outlets and the Uninterrupted
Power Supply...reset the breaker...and then started reconnecting everything one
by one...to see which was the cause.

  Everything was OK, until I got to the monitor...and it tripped again.
Thinking I had too much hooked up, I disconnected everything again, reset the
breaker, and this time, hooked the monitor up first...and it tripped again.
Figuring it was the breaker, I decided to unplug everything, and wait...since I
had to notify maintenence about the problem. And, with the unsettled weather
here of late, and the New Year...I figured it'd be several days getting back
up. That's why some of you got emails to this effect.

  Last night, I decided to try a different approach. I had a spare monitor from
my wifes older computer system that quit working awhile back...but the monitor
still worked. I had used this other monitor for "area computer demos" to show
off the BBS. I hooked it up, along with everything else...and that seemed to do
the trick!! The system has been up for over 10 hours at this typing now...and
no breaker tripping. So, it appears that the older monitor was shorting out,
and that was causing the breaker to repeatedly trip. However, I'm still going
to have maintenence check the breaker out.

  I made a huge catch-up mailrun last night...and I think I got caught up with
the "automated postings" for weather history, the Burma Shave ads, and other
items...but, with unsettled weather around here, the BBS may be down for storms
at times...and when I finally get the materials to make it telnet ready, the
BBS may be down for a few days while I migrate everything over, and get
everything ready. I'll post more details on telnet access once everything is in
place.
