We can't help it if the way you word things leads one to that conclusion. You
made it sound as if there was a real chance for Ho to get aid from the US. You
are the one speculating on how things 'could have' been different. We've been
telling you all along that Ho never had a snowball's chance in hell of getting
aid from the US.

GB> Ho started having problems with Chenault?

 GB> What problems?

Indirectly. Chenault and Chiang Kai Shek were nationalists. With Mao and the
communist rebels thrown in, it was a giant furball. The Nationalists ended up
being forced out to Formosa. Indochina, on the southern border of China,
became Vietnam and Cambodia and Thailand. Don't forget that Indochina covered
a lot more territory than just Vietnam. There has never been any love lost
between the Vietnamese and Chinese, and after we left they would fight a brief
war against China. The only really stable period in that whole region was when
the French controlled it.
