I seem to remember Kerry saying that it was time to put aside partisan fighting
and work together as Mr. Bush said he wanted to do.  In fact, I believe he
promised that.  Yet, I heard several Dems saying the other day that they were
going to do whatever it took to keep Bush from putting the judges he wants on
the bench, and they've been doing their best to scuttle his choices for cabinet
officers.  Condi Rice comes to mind.

I remember also when Jim Wright promised Bush Sr. that if he signed off on a
tax increase, the House would follow up with spending cuts.  Wright
doublecrossed him, and that cost Bush a second term.

The left is long on promises but damn short on follow-through.
