I would also require a warrant.  Not because I have anything to hide but
because the people of this country need to keep the government in line.
The US Constitution is *not* a technicality.

FWIW I put the same requirement on government census takers and have
been round and round with them.  Just about every ten years.  The only
legitimate questions on the census form is how many people reside at a
particular address and how old are they.  I fill in those answers and leave
the rest of the form blank; this generates a visit from a real, live,
*official*
US census taker, complete with sticky name tag proclaiming that fact to one
and all, and I tell that person exactly the same thing, that I did not 'forget'
to answer most of the questions but that I *refuse* to answer those questions
and that s/he isn't getting in my door without a search warrant signed by a
real judge (and not some administrative flunky with the title 'administrative
law judge').
