          Uh-huh.  I'm reminded of the old saying, "Genius is next to madness."
IMHO almost anything can be counterproductive if carried to extremes... and the
same goes for judgement (or lack thereof) in a preferred reasoning style.  When
Dallas & I use brainstorming we tend to do it at a more leisurely pace....  :-)

          As in MACBETH... "The lady doth protest too much, methinks!"  That is
essentially what got me wondering about Colin Campbell.  The harder other folks
try to get me to make favourable judgements the more likely I am to examine the
situation in detail to find out what I've missed.  And in doing so I often come
to the conclusion that they're probably trying to convince themselves....  :-))

          Uh-huh.  I realized a long time ago that I'm a divergent thinker, and
I'll probably never fit in... so I don't try very hard to fit in any more.  :-)

          I guess one advantage is that while you each have your own space, you
are close enough to render mutual aid as needed.  Dallas & I found living three
blocks away from my parents quite convenient from that standpoint... [chuckle].

          Makes sense to me!  Assuming you're right about how your father feels
... since you know him better than I do... I think it's good that you recognize
what's going on.  I've noticed with certain male/female relationships that when
a guy is very macho and/or controlling, the gal may be very manipulative... and
get her own way because he's blind to it.  But I gather your Dad is learning he
actually has more control when he's not trying to control other people....  :-)

          Another possibility, I guess, is that he and/or your former neighbour
need visual cues.  Some folks are a menace when they get behind a weed eater or
a lawn mower... and any verbal instructions you give them seem to go in one ear
& out the other.  They'll massacre tulips, rose bushes, and everything else you
wanted to keep while leaving enormous patches of weeds untouched.  Whatever the
reason(s) for this, I've also learned to put barriers around stuff I don't want
them to interfere with.  If something like a little wire fence scrounged from a
yard about to be bulldozed... or a pile of pruned branches!... gets in the way,
they usually mow just to the edge of it & ignore what needs to be done by hand.
Because Dallas & I are allergic to the hormones certain grasses & weeds produce
when they are cut, we depend on other people for help just as you do... (sigh).

          In other words, you value the process as much as the product.  That's
the sort of remark which tells me you're a "P" person, as I am....  :-)
