Hi again, James!  This is a continuation of my previous message to you:

          In my experience that's perfectly normal.  The sense of self is tied
to the development of the brain, which is still in progress during the teenage
years.  And you found it eventually.  I'm not convinced everyone does....  ;-)

          Uh-huh.  And according to various experts on Darwin's work, survival
of the fittest has more to do with being adaptable than with being stronger or
smarter.  I saw examples to the same effect when Nora was in hospital....  :-)

          He didn't notice what I was doing.  He was more technically skilled,
but very sloppy about details.  That's why I needed a dictionary... I couldn't
drown him out or get him to go along with what I was doing by exaggerating the
articulation, as I often did with my students.  And he couldn't believe I knew
anything worth knowing although I'd been taught to read these terms in four or
five languages.  He'd accept my input, however, when I could show him evidence
that some Authority Figure had said whatever I was trying to tell him....  :-)

          Beats me, but I know his cartoons from the 1950's are still in print
... Dallas & I treated ourselves to them as a family present last Xmas.   :-))

          As I said... you're more SP than I am.  But I'm developing a greater
appreciation of SP's nowadays, thanks to you & some other people... [chuckle].
