Hi again, George!  This is a continuation of my previous message to you:

          Hmm.  Nora was discharged from rehab after four months... but she was
still living with us at the time, and she continued with therapy two afternoons
a week while attending school daily.  I count you among those who have inspired
us because AFAIK you're living on your own & you can walk a couple of blocks if
necessary although you've received less help in some ways than she has....  :-)

          ... especially if therapists are no longer available after this magic
number has been reached!  Maybe you fell through the cracks, as we often do, or
maybe things have changed since then.  Nora was discharged before the paint was
dry in the bathroom, two months ahead of schedule... and a surprising number of
other kids were discharged around the same time.  I can't help wondering if the
bean-counters had something to say about that.  But Nora got another six months
of therapy through the Centre for Ability, i.e. a non-profit organization which
receives some funding from the gov't.  We were so favourably impressed with the
therapists they provided, BTW, that we hired most of them privately afterwards.

          I don't know whether this organization provides therapy for adults...
but I do know the gov't. has realized it's much cheaper to help kids like Nora,
so they can live at home with their parents, than to keep them in hospital.  It
probably cost less to provide therapy two afternoons a week for six months than
it would have cost for two months of more intensive work at Sunny Hill....  :-)
