The new Mac will mostly be used for presentations.  Music, video, and of 
course Bible study will be the primary usage with formal presentations.  
We already have a copy of Microsoft Office 2004 for the Mac which will 
enable us to use PowerPoint.  Since most of our presentations are 
currently done in PowerPoint XP (Office XP) the changeover should be 
painless.

The real expense will be Music Presentation software.  It really doesn't 
make a difference whether the software is for Windows or the Mac, it's 
likewise expensive.  (around $300)  Also, there's a catch: the video 
output must be capable of providing a dual path.  One to the projector, 
the other to the monitor.  I haven't really explored if that was 
possible with the current line of video cards used in the new Macs.

Right now we don't plan on networking the machines together but at 
sometime in the future that may be a possibility.  We currently have two 
Windows notebooks and three Windows desktops.  All but one are running 
XP.  I'm also going to purchase a Super G wireless system at Costco 
before leaving the DFW metro area for our new location.  The new Super 
systems at Costco are $129 for base station and one receiver.  I'll have 
to purchase additional Super G receivers or use the current G models we 
already have.
