I know... I'll try the pulse phone and provided it doesn't work, I'll sue the
telco for not being able to dial 911! <EG> (As long as it makes the papers, I'd
be happy enough. ;-) I'm a little concerned that there are pulse dialed phones,
that might not be jury-rigged to dial out in case of an emergency. Someone
laying flat on their backs often don't have a choice which phone they crawl to.

I would concure. I can't be positive about the second set of wires, (There's a
rats nest of unconnected 2nd pairs.) but I'm almost 100% that I have only the
two (Red and Black?) wires connected to the phone I'll mention. I have one that
is lite likely with an (array of) LED(s), but there's no source of auxiluray
power to it. I'm 99.9% sure, this draws all its power to an off-hook
telco-delivered line power.
