I was kind of looking forward to using it, and wanted to give it a fair chance.
 My preference all along was for Windows, based on my past experience with its
various forms.  There was always the possibility of running U'u in a VirtualBox
instead of t'other way around, though I may not have used U'u at all (it's
quite a h-u-g-e installation).

Oh, yes.  I have a text capture of the one way to remove it... oops, I just
checked, two ways: one from Alan and another from Jeff G.  :)

Office 2k+3 runs quite well on my vBox-ed XP-H, though it did produce a recent
hiccup with attempting to run Access from a double-click on a .MDB file in
Total Commander.  This is something I had been doing already for over two
years, BTW, and not a new method.  Office needed to see the CD again; I
re-introduced it and Office was happy with that again, and allowed me to do the
double-click thing again.[shrug]  Otherwise it works great.

The old version of PaintShopPro that I have works wonderfully in either of my
2x Win98se vBoxes or my XP-H vBox, or for that matter, in my wife's XP-H vBox
on her U'u PC as well.  It's the same copy (ver 4.10 from August 1996), with
only ever a single copy running at any one time, running from a network drive. 
(I have had two copies going in the past but it's not a much-used application.)

What I'm saying is that there is only a single installation of PsPro.  Way, way
back, I used to do the same with an old MS Office; there was only one
installation that could be used from (at that time) either one of our two WFWG
3.11 PCs.  That's from a time when HDD space was measured in measly amounts of
megabytes.  :)

I've given up on Acrobat and very much prefer to use FoxitReader in my Puppy
linux vBox or the XP-H vBox, or whatever it is that U'u has by default (just
checking...) Evince, which is really quite good (better than FoxitReader).

Same here, mon ami.  I rely on my #2 daughter for a lot of PC advice,
particularly hands-on Windows know-how (currently at-home, 2nd year
Nurse-in-training).  She is a real princess with Vista or W-7 be it on any of
the four machines she owns (two each of desktops & laptops), who has _never_
known of a time when there wasn't a Windows machine in the home.

No need here; there's always my little Dell netbook with an itch for any stray
wireless connections, wherever I may roam.  :)  I am an at-home dad with grown
children and a working -working- wife.
