They are as downright nasty tempered as they look.  They also have
bacteria in their claws and teeth that can give you (or animals that get
scratched/bitten by one) a wicked infection.  A friend had a dog
attacked by one and the dog had quite an infection--but did recover.

We had a cat named Dog once.  Long story short, my dad was WWII era Navy
so when one of our cats had kittens, they were Able, Baker, Charlie and
Dog. First 3 found homes, mom cat died on operating table while being
spayed (genetic heart defect). So, we kept Dog--and the name.

We were just barely within the village limits but out of town, proper.
We also had (and my parents still have) rabbits, porcupines, skunks, the
occaisional wood chucks and bears.

I always keep my eyes open looking for them, especially when we turn on
to Route 30 circling the reservoir (Pepactin) north of Downsville.
That's a bad road any time of year, more so at night but can be during
the day as well.


crock pots

The company that made my pot merged with another one so we had to do
some hunting. The internet helps but that was in the early days that the
liner broke.  I forget how we chased that down.

The size of this roast made it nice for the baby crock pot. Didn't use
that much electricity as opposed to stove top either.
