That sounds rather like the dingo.

Although they interbreed readily, they are a recognised breed, with a
unique temperament and characteristics.  The dingo is one of only very
few non-marsupial mammals in Australia.  As far as can be determined
they were introduced from SE Asia via India by accompanying aborigines
about 4000 years ago.  Normally rather solitary animals, in the wild
state they are known to sometimes gang up with a few others (possibly
family) to bring down sheep, from which they prefer to eat the liver
first.  Newly born lamb brains are particularly liked.  When
interbreeding with domestic dogs gone wild they are more likely to
form packs.  I have read somewhere that they never bark, but just,
"sing".   If you looked up "dingo" in Google you should get lots of
pics and info.

      Title: Wild Mushroom and Pumpkin Risotto
 Categories: Mushrooms, Rice
      Yield: 1 Servings
 
           Canola oil
      3    Shallots -- minced
      1 c  Chanterelles
      1 c  Shiitakes -- quartered
      1 c  Morels
    1/2 tb Fresh thyme -- minced
    1/4 c  White wine
      1 tb Butter -- optional
      2 c  Pumpkin -- fine diced
      1 ts Five spice
      1 tb Honey
    1/2 c  Vegetable stock -- up to 1
           Cup
      4 c  Vegetarian risotto
           Salt and black pepper -- to
           Taste
           Truffle oil -- for garnish
      1 c  Shiitake chips -- for
           Garnish
 
  In a hot saute pan coated with oil, caramelize the shallots. Season.
  Add the mushrooms and thyme. Saute until mushrooms are soft and check
  for seasoning. Deglaze with wine. Add butter and set aside. In same
  pan, add a little oil and saute pumpkin. Add five spice and honey.
  Add 1/2 cup stock and stir. Pumpkin will absorb the stock and end up
  al dente. Add more stock if needed but do not over cook it. Add back
  the mushrooms and the risotto. Heat thoroughly and garnish with
  truffle oil and shiitake chips.
