====================
Hi Janis,

JK> Just so you know, I found Marc's problem with his mail.. things should
JK> be better now we hope. To make a long story short, he'd changed how he
JK> was polling my system and that caused some problems because his mail
JK> wasn't where he was looking for it.. I expect you will or should have
JK> gotten quite a large dump of mail however since my system kept it all
JK> for him here "waiting" for him to pick it up (grin).

Thanks. We got a huge packet of about 400 messages. I read about half
yesterday (enough to put me at the 20 replies per day limit) and am
finishing today. Hopefully things will settle down a bit so I can get
something else done around here. (G)

JK> Any semolina based pasta will take 7-9 minutes, true.. even the
JK> half-semolina half whole wheat will take 9-11, depending on the
JK> firmness you like.. we eat all of our pasta al dente, whether we eat

A lot of the whole wheat pasta we get (dried) is in the 7-9 minute
cooking range. I generally give it the shorter time, sometimes a bit
more.

JK> oppossed to Semolina.. there are some _good_ semolina macaroni brands
JK> out there that are much better than others so that is why I
JK> differentiate them from Muellers :) And yes, fresh pasta cooks very

My mom has always gotten that or the store brand, depending on which was
on sale. Since she gets the white stuff and boils it to death, it has
never been what I would call "good" pasta. It's been pretty close to
mush sometimes. (G)

JK> very fast.. 2-3 minutes generally..I love buying semolina flour and

Hmmmmmmmmm, web search time. That's how I found a part for my sewing
machine earlier this year.

JK> 2 inch raviolis not the small soup type raviolis, and you simply

My MIL used to cut hers out with a tuna fish can. They were huge but
Steve tells the story of a contest one of his brothers and an uncle had
once to see who could eat the most. IIRC, the winner ate 23, the loser,
22.

JK> poured all the ingredients in the hopper and cranked the raviolis out.
JK> I have the exact machine already for the soup size ones.. as I said I
JK> saw the machine for the 2" one in a catalog ONCE! I swear :) :) And
JK> haven't been able to find it since :) Ah well.. one of these days :)

Keep looking; it'll show up again.

JK> > You did mention it; I got a giggle out of the name then, and again
JK> now. > Family names for foods can be quite unique, as well as
 JK> descriptive. (G)

JK> haha.. yes indeed.. Made me laugh then as well :)

The fun of eating when parents don't mind such goings on.

JK> Very neat :) And yest good timing no doubt..

It's been well appreciated. Rachel pretty much junked everything else.
She kept a couple of things to use for camping. Now I'll get to try it
when I go out there this fall.

JK> Same here.. I'd much rather get a sense of what my daughter thinks the
JK> boys want ... or go from a list from them .. though once in a while
JK> Ron and I will see something that we figure the boys just have to
JK> have, but not really that often (g).

We've done both. When we were in the local Bass Pro Shop last summer, I
spotted some things that would be neat for Robert. We picked them up at
teh Las Vegas store when we went out. Unfortunately one was defective
so we had to return it the day aftr Christmas. He came with us (as did
Rachel); his reaction was so funny when he walked into the store. If
you don't know, it's very outdoorsy with a fish pond/waterfall and all
kinds of real stuffed animals mixed with the boats, hunting & fishing
supplies, etc. Robert let loose with a big "WOOOOOOOOW"--couldn't hardly
get him out of the store when we had finished the exchange.

>> Anyway, I believe the page I went to was www.montesoriservices.com.

JK> That should be nice for you - a nice break in the traveling :)
