Could be they are more fiber than regualr potatoes. I have heard tell that 
Potatoes ( regular ) are pretty much straight sugar. The Starch just turns to 
sugar, but in reg potatoes that starch is just sugar waiting to change, so it 
probably isn't to much in the category of fiber.

Is he on the heavy side or below normal? diabetics come in all sizes, but 
because it is a metabolic thing, they tend to be heavy. But if they are on 
the light side. I saw it eat my mother away untils she looked like a skeleton 
in skin. Once she got it under control, she she gained weight back. Anyway, 
if one is light, Fats don't hurt the blood sugar too much if one controls the 
carbs. What it will do is keep high BS's high though. Like I can eat Cheese 
or even whip cream on sugar free jello.. No problem, Blood sugars do not 
rise, however if they are like say 110 and I eat the fats, it stays at 110 
rather than go down when I take insulin. Thats why I wondered. If some people 
need to maitain their wgt. the fats won't hurt unless a ton of carbs joins in 
on the fun 8)

They say, 15 gram increments are servings of carbs. So 1/2 bagel, 1 carb 
serving, whole bagel, 2... This is another reason for "me" it is just easier 
to reduce carbs and not worry too much. If I eat that 1/2 Bagel, or that 
pancake, I am gonna eat more, I just know it <grin>

Ouch that could be bad... Just like a can of pop is small, but is potent. And 
the BBQ sauce You mentioned. BBQ sauce and Ketchup according to atkins were 
some the worst things for you serving for serving. I still dribble ketchup on 
my scrambled eggs. Back when the Atkins craze was going on, it was easy for 
me to get some of these replacements, but when it came to Ketchup and BBQ, 
the standins did not stand out in my book ;-) I am just very carful with the 
ketchup A little is better than none.

Yeah it is kinda like the insulin our bodies put out all day long, not the 
rushes when we eat. I guess that is what the Lantus makes up for. Whereas 
like a humulog or humulin or whatever takes place of the after eating rushes.

She doesn't know what she is missing if she isn't! 8-) Was that a sweet roll 
or a cinnamin bun?  Today it is Cinnamin bun. ;-)
