Hi Janis,

JK> more than > what you did on a more basic level. She didn't look like
 JK> she was
 JK> > starving when I met her in 2008. (G)

 JK> Lol :) That's certainly true and I'm glad she's a healthy girl.

It is good, and she's doing the same with her boys.

JK> Really all I did was make sure that she didn't have to eat too many of
JK> the foods every day that caused her the most grief.. If she got fish
JK> once a week, that was ok.. anything more would start stomach trouble
 JK> and worse (asthma).

Niether of which are any fun. For the most part I handle the asthma OK
but when the bronchitis kicks in, then the asthma goes somewhat out of
control. It usually settles down in a few weeks tho.

>> crumble.. but I had to get to the doc (grin).

JK> > We've had all sorts of crazy temperatures. It hit 81 earlier this
 JK> week;

 JK> (drat! I want some! (bg) )

Its cooler again, had a major front come thru. I suspect you got some
snow out of the same one; we had rain.

JK> Our snow is melting after our last onslaught on Tuesday.. after a few
JK> feet of snow showed up we were reminded that Winter is not over :(

T'aint over till it's over.

JK> > Did they make you say "ouch?" I've had that sort (but not with a
JK> > rotator cuff) poking and prodding too many times to make it funny.

JK> haha.. they sure did.. several times.. and I had taken 3 anacin
JK> (strong aspirin with caffeine in to make the aspirin work faster) when
JK> I woke up that morning.. Aspirin only really works with that kind of

I usaually make them work hard for my "ouch". (G)

JK> pain if you don't use the
JK> arm/shoulder.. That's why even choppping onions was so painful. Anyway
JK> he said my rotator cuff didn't seem to torn which I guess is a more
JK> serious thing... though the pain killer he gave me doesn't seem a
JK> whole lot stronger than those 3 anacin I was taking.. his choice for
JK> the med may have been related to another drug I take, which can't be
JK> taken with some powerful painkillers..and that is just fine by me (g).

Don't want you thrown into a complete loop. Today wasn't good for
cutting, chopping or whatever; it was cold and wet. I did do some cut up
but also traced a pattern for a jumper (for Sarah) and cut out a pattern
for making a bbq apron for Steve.

JK> > Anyway, I hope it heals fast and you won't need the surgery. That's
JK> a > pain in it's own right; Steve had it while we were in HI.

JK> I don't even want to think about surgery.. everything with MS scares
JK> doctors.. typically they don't want to touch you with something so
JK> obtrusive as surgery. Really, the worst I feared was that steroid
JK> injection into the muscle.. it is so incredibly painful.. worse than
JK> having kids (g). It's fast though, but it really did me in after that
JK> one I had so many years ago..

Try to take some of the stress off it whenever you can tho. I know,
easier said than done.

>> Oh.. 78.. like a dream right now Lol I'm hoping we get some temps in
>> the 40's or 50's again so I can get the peas in.. :) That seems to be
>> about my limit.

JK> > We're aiming for the 60s tomorrow. Steve did some "gardening" today,
JK> > getting the area ready where we want to plant the tomatoes and
JK> peppers. > We also picked up some lettuce (a variety of butter crunch)
JK> plants at > the farmer's market today that went into that plot.

JK> Yes, this is the time to do it since most lettuces don't like warm
JK> weather... for us, I usually start them inside around now.. this year
JK> I haven't with the shoulder and such.

Steve got basil seeds into starter pots today. He also harvested mung
and alfalfa sprouts; I used some of the latter in spinach salad tonight.

JK> > I can come up with ideas but don't know how to put them together
 JK> onto a > web page. That's your expertise.

JK> A lot of it is examining the way people do things, and of course lots
JK> of reading.. a lot of reading :)

About the way with most anything I guess.

JK> > My younger daughter would probably be able to tell me how to do it.
JK> The > older one would explain it like she were teaching it to a class.
 JK> (G)

JK> That's cute :) Though there is so much to learn, it's one of those
JK> things where you feel good about knowing how much you _don't_ know :)
 JK> :) Even in
JK> programming, I've always felt that I was on the upside of the "battle"
JK> when I realized how much more there was to understand and learn.
 JK> (smile)

I know enough to do what I need to do; Steve puts out a lot of fires
tho.

JK> > I'll pick up any jobs or not in the down time. If not, I'm OK as I
JK> can > use the time to sew for myself or grandbabies.

JK> That's always a good thing and I'm sure it will be appreciated by your
 JK> daughters :)

That's the plan.

>> Just a habit started way back when I used "Crokett's Victory Garden",
>> a pbs show and book, to plant my very first garden sometime around
>> 1978 :) It's still the best book I've found regarding gardening.

JK> > We're a bit further south so stuff like that goes in earlier here.
JK> I've > heard about Crokett but never saw the show or read his book.
