I just thought I'd throw out a few suggestions. I never would have
thought of pineapple but I was thinking more on the raw apple crunch
end, rather than the soft & mushy cooked end.

It's 6 quarts; the old one was 4. I just have to play around with it a
bit. It's one time when more precise measuring would probably be better
originally but too late for that now. I'll get it figured out; I know
it's several "glugs" of vinegar, a good sized spoonful of brown sugar, a
fair sized cut up onion and so on for the 4 quart size. Also about a
pound of white beans, soaked and cooked.

It was good--and fairly easy. The wilted lettuce is something Steve got
me onto fairly early into our marriage but since it calls for bacon, I
didn't do it when he wasn't eating pork. I tried it once when turkey
bacon first came out but that was a big flop. I need the bacon fat and
turkey bacon just doesn't have the same mouth feel pork bacon does.
