Would that such were true here. Yesterday I was a GFS to get some 
sandwich stuff and decided I was out of cashews ... Planters was in a 46 
oz tin and the house brand was in a 32 oz plastic jar. The Planters were 
priced per ounce and the house brand per serving .... making it hard to 
do a comparison without a calculator to hand.

Coffee is another GOTCHA! - what used to hold 3 lb/48 oz/1360g now holds 
34 oz or worse .... less than 2 lb. I've seen some Folgers and Maxwell 
House varieties coming in at 26 to 28 ounces ... at the same (inflated) 
price as their more filled cousins. Got to read those labels carefully. 
Former 1# cans now hold between 9 and 11 1/2 oz of coffee.

Fortunately I can buy 8 O'Clock bean coffee in an honest weight 
container and grind my own fresh. What I do actually when I buy 8 
O'Clock is to buy a pound each of Columbian Roast, French Roast and Dark 
Roast and stir them together to get my own "custom" blend.

      Title: Coffee BBQ Sauce
 Categories: Bbq, Sauces, Marinades, Chilies, Vegetables
      Yield: 3 Cups
 
    1/2 c  Brewed espresso or strong,
           - dark coffee
      1 c  Ketchup
    1/2 c  Cider vinegar
    1/2 c  Firm packed lt brown sugar
      1 c  Onion; fine chopped
      2 cl Garlic; peeled, crushed
      3    Fresh hot chilies; seeded
      2 tb Hot dry mustard
           +=MIXED WITH=+
      1 tb Warm water
      2 tb Worcestershire sauce
      2 tb Ground cumin
      2 tb Chilli spice
 
  Put espresso or coffee, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar,
  onion, garlic, chile peppers, dry mustard, Worcestershire
  sauce, cumin, and chilli spice in a small pot, stir them
  together, and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Lower
  the heat so the mixture is just simmering and let simmer for
  20 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat, let the mixture
  cool, then puree it in a blender or food processor fitted
  with the steel blade.
  
  The barbecue sauce can be covered and refrigerated for up to
  two weeks.
  
  Yield: about 3 cups
