Hi Janis,

JK> > Were they fat, as well as tall? I've seen some tanks that were tall
JK> but > skinny, others were tall and fatter.
JK> Yes, fat and tall :) IIRC, when we'd get propane it cost around
JK> $600-700.00.
Not an inexpensive purchase but if it lasted a good long time, then it
was worth it. Were you able to pay the bill over several months or did
you have to pay it all in one shot?
>> We went out yesterday to get Ron to the doc, and I think gas here in

JK> > With a $.05 credit at Lowe's (grocery) today, we paid $2.78. We did

JK> short of > another nickel's credit but decided to wait a bit before
JK> doing any more > shopping there. We probably will get it next week.
JK> That's a nice way to save some $$ :)
We do it as often as we can. This spring, before Steve was able to drive
after his stroke, we were up to a $.25 credit but gave it to the church
for the van. This week they're running a promo if you spend $100. in one
visit, you'll get a $.50 credit.

JK> > I wasn't thrilled with it but one good thing is that there's no

JK> again, and > maybe even come to like it.
JK> Very easy to clean, that's true. I liked it a lot as I remembered
JK> more and more about using it. It's been a while... It seems like
JK> every kitchen I've used in the last whatever-many-years has had a gas
JK> range. It would be interesting to see what an electric range would
JK> cost over time compared to a gas range here... we do have 220 coming
JK> in, so we wouldn't have to upgrade the house at least in that respect.
JK> We'd need a new electric range though but as long as I'm dreaming ....
JK> (G)
Our last gas range was when we were in AZ, left there in March of 2001
so it's been a while since I cooked regularly with gas. Rachel has it,
and IIRC, so does Deborah, but we've not been out west since August of
last year. I usually help Rachel more with the cooking than I do
Deborah, just the way things work at each girl's house.

JK> > He should have gotten a flu shot. I got mine in September, had a
JK> > doctor's appointment and it was offered, so I took it.
JK> Shoulda... :) Yes :) I think since our doc is in Binghamton (about
JK> an hour away) we don't get there as often as we used to and we didn't
JK> think about it. I don't need it, just Ron does. My son is so healthy,
JK> he never gets a sniffle :) Now we're only 10 minutes from Ithaca so I
JK> should check if there is anywhere offering free flu shots though. :)
Probably would make more sense to find a more local doctor. We changed
earlier this year because our doctor down in Raleigh retired and we were
just seeing PAs. Found a practice in WF where we see doctors, tho Steve
does most of his work thru the VA. He has a doctor here in WF for back
up, if he can't get a VA appointment.
>> > This was put out for the original 3 quart crock pots.

JK> > I've got a baby (I think it's 1.5 quarts) crock pot that's nice for
JK> the > 2 of us for little to no left overs type meals.
JK> That sounds like this one here... looks like it would be "just enough"
JK> :) Typically, when I cook, I cook a lot of what I'm making and store
JK> it in the frig or freezer.. that's one (or more days) I don't have to
JK> knock myself out cooking (g). Or cleaning up after hehe...(g)
I do a lot of either big batch and freeze or just enough cooking,
depends on what I'm making. I'll probably put the remains of the chicken
in the little crock pot tomorrow morning.

JK> That's nice to do as well! Stainless? Will you have a pot rack in
JK> your new kitchen?
We've got to figure out how to hang it. If it can't be hung, then I'll
want to have Steve build a wall unit to hang the pots on. He took down
the rack tonight--the kitchen looks so empty!

JK> > I think I would have had a hard time resisting as well. (G) I've got
JK> > several cast iron fry pans and a dutch oven that all get used
JK> regularly.
JK> Yes, same here :)
We also picked up a small (about 10") round griddle at a kitchen store
in Savannah a few years ago.
>>>> > Hopefully it'll sell fast.
>> No wonder-immediate-interest yet.. guess it will take some time. (g)
>> It's what I expected really.. it's a "lot" of house, so it might take

JK> > On the market and people are looking--good signs.
JK> I have to contact the agent and see what kind of reactions she's
JK> hearing from people.. not that we can do much over there at this
JK> point...
Just pray for a fast sale at a good price.
>> > Sounds good. The one we're buying has been on the market for a few
>> > months. A couple of the places we looked at have sold, and closed,
>> but > we asked for a longer time to get all the ducks in a row.
>> That's understandable. More time to plan and think :)
JK> > Plan out a bit better where things will be placed.
JK> Yes, indeed. It's so neat .... I'm happy for the two of you :)
The excitement is building here as well, and a big pile of boxes is also
building. (G) I want to measure shelves to know how much liner to buy,
clean some areas in the kitchen that didn't get a good cleaning, figure
out where I can stow what and so on.
