RH> Either we didn't get the channels or weren't aware it was on or didn't
RH> know it was a movie or didn't have the money to go but we haven't seen

They were both on broadcast (over the air/antenna) TeeVee networks. Shogun was
on NBC over 5 nights (September 15 - 19, 1980) and Noble House was also from
NBC, broadcast beginning 21 February, 1988. Unlike with Shogun - a number of
significant sub-plots were left out. Still, an enjoyable watch if one had not
read the book. Shogun was *much* more faithful to the book - and it ran
significantly longer in span than Noble House. One of the very few movie or
TeeVee presentations of a book I have read that I enjoyed as much (or nearly
so) as the book itself.

Make the aioli and begin marinating the tuna early in the
day. Microwave the lemon and lime in a small bowl to
release the essential oils and set aside just long enough
to be able to handle. Meanwhile, through the feed tube of
a running blender, add 1 at a time, the egg yolks, dry
mustard, salt, and white pepper. By this time, the
micro-waved lemon and lime should be cool enough to
handle. Leaving the blender running, squeeze the juice
from half of 1 lemon through the feed opening, then add
the oil in a slow stream. Remove to a bowl and
  refrigerate.

Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper, place them in
a nonreactive container and squeeze the rest of the lemon
and the lime over them. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Heat the grill or preheat the broiler in the oven. Brush
the marinated tuna with 1 tablespoon or so of olive oil.
Cook until browned, until fish flakes with a fork, 3 to 6
minutes per side, and then let rest. Leave grill hot or
  oven on to toast bread.

Brush olive oil (about 1 tablespoon per half) on Italian
bread and toast lightly, either on the grill or under
  broiler.

Flake the tuna, place in a bowl with scallions and fennel
and fold in the aioli. Spoon tuna mixture onto the toasted
Italian bread, drizzle a small amount of balsamic vinegar
over, and top with Cheddar. Heat briefly in the oven to
melt cheese. Garnish with fresh dill. This is great served
with fresh tomato soup, if desired.

      Title: Tow Mater Cookie Treats
 Categories: Snacks, Cookies, Chocolate
      Yield: 1 batch

           Sugar cookie dough; ho-made
           - or store bought)
           Marshmallows
           Confectioner's sugar
           Decorator's icing
           Chocolate chewy candies
           Green Dots candies
           Chocolate Chips
           Yellow hard candies
           Ring shaped gummies

MMMMM-------------------------EQUIPMENT-----------------------------
           Rolling pin
           Flour
           Wax paper
           Baking sheet
           Cooling rack
           Kitchen knife

HOW TO MAKE IT: Print the template and cut out the pieces.

Roll the cookie dough out to 1/4" thickness on a
flour-dusted sheet of wax paper. For each cookie, use the
template pieces as a pattern to cut a tow truck body, a
front bumper, and a side view mirror bar from the dough.
Bake and cool the cookie pieces according to the recipe
  directions.

For each tow truck, place a marshmallow on a piece of wax
paper dusted with confectioner's sugar and use a rolling
pin to roll it as thin as possible. Then use the template
pieces to cut out a marshmallow windshield and two
  marshmallow teeth.

Likewise, roll flat the chocolate chewy candies (if the
candy is too stiff, you can microwave it for up to 5
seconds to soften it). Use the template pieces to cut out
a candy mouth and windshield trim for each cookie.

To assemble each Tow Mater treat, first use dabs of
decorator icing to stick the windshield and mouth pieces
in place. Then top the windshield with the trim piece. For
eyes, slice two circle shapes from a green Dots candy.
Then press a chocolate chip, tip down, into the center of
each circle. Use dabs of frosting to hold the eyes in
place atop the windshield. Next, stick the teeth atop the
mouth. Add a yellow hard candy for a "shining" headlight
and a ring shaped gummy for a broken headlight.

Use decorator's icing to attach a front bumper to each
truck. Then stick the side view mirror bar to the back of
the cookie so that the ends extend beyond the cab above
the headlights. For mirrors, slice another Tootsie Roll in
half vertically and stick one halve to each end of the
  mirror bar.
