There are a bunch of factors.

Part of it is the obsession and self-isolation that are
needed to achieve that high level, both inconducive to
development of normal social skills and relations. Part
of it is the ego overdevelopment necessary to survive in
the business. Part probably deals with the huge dependency
of musician for teacher, and when that relationship goes
away, what's to replace it. There's more that I thought
of, but it's not hitting me right now.

Kleinhans. If old Foss were still conducting when I
went to try out, I might have thriven - he's the one
who made all the mostly peculiar recordings. After him
was Bychkov at the very beginning of his career. Though
he turned pretty good later, he was nobody I could have
learned anything from back then.

But he's doing it just for fun now.

In towns that churn out gazillions of bodies (Boston, New
York, Rochester, Baltimore, Philly) but no new audience,
there is even competition for some of those non-paying gigs.

The idea that you are supposed to cart your detritus away is
pretty alien to some people. I might visit there again in a
year or two to see if the sequestered NPS has caved and
reinstituted garbage service or if the bags and cans have
taken over the restrooms and then migrated outdoors and
into the river.

Star of David Angel Food Cake
categories: astonishing, bad, not kidding, blue
servings: 8

1 (10 to 12 oz) purchased angel food cake
10 lg marshmallows
1 (12 oz) container fluffy white frosting
Blue food coloring
Special Equipment: wired pearl strands

Place cake, wide side down, on a serving platter. Fill
hole in center of cake with marshmallows. Place frosting
in a medium bowl. Stir food coloring, 1 drop at a time,
into frosting until desired color is achieved. Spread
frosting evenly over top and sides of cake to coat
completely.

Bend pearl strand into 2 Stars of David, leaving 2" of
wire hanging down from bottom of each star. Place 1 Star
of David inside and perpendicular to second Star of David,
creating a 3-D effect. Stand Stars of David atop cake.
Drape another pearl strand around base of cake. Remove
pearls before cutting and serving.
