You won't find a lot of Tom Clancy on BookBub. It's sort of like a 
remainder bin - reduced price or free. I have scored some gems - much as 
I used to do in the remaindered racks at the record stores (when there 
were actual, physical record stores around) or the $1 tables at Barnes & 
Noble or Walden Books.

Well, yeah. Same here. Right now I am reading an Alternate History novel 
in hard cover as the display on the Kindle has gone all raggedy and 
unreadable. I bought a replacement on eBay which should be here by 
Tuesday next. Wednesday at the latest.

Another computer program I recommend for readers is Calibre - freeware 
from Sourceforge. It will let you use your confuser as an e-book reader 
as well as converting your e-books from one format to another. And it's 
my favourite price - FREE. Although I schlepped them a $25 donation 
because it is well-done and very useful (to me). Also because they 
didn't pull a gun and demand payment.  Bv)=

I used to do paperbacks exclusively. But, I have begun converting the 
"keepers" to hard cover (usually via eBay). I don't plan to move from 
here - except maybe across the street or across town. I have also begun 
divesting my Bon Apetit and Gourmet magazines - tried to Freecycle them 
and got no takers. So when ever I visit a doctor's office I leave a 
bundle on the reading tables.  Bv)=  Beats stale and outdated People or

Pepitas (pumpkin seeds) would work, too. It's a pretty versatile recipe.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Candied Pumpkin Seeds
 Categories: Squash, Herbs, Chilies
      Yield: 2 servings

      1 tb Unsalted butter
      1 tb Sugar
    1/2 ts Ground cumin
    1/4 ts Cinnamon
    1/4 ts Paprika
    1/4 ts Cayenne
    1/2 c  Raw green (hulled) pumpkin
           - seeds (pepitas)

  Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over moderate heat. Stir
  in sugar, cumin, cinnamon, paprika, cayenne, and 1/4
  teaspoon salt, then cook, without stirring, until
  caramelized.

  Add pumpkin seeds and cook, stirring occasionally, until
  seeds are puffed and golden. Transfer to a plate to cool.
  When seeds have hardened, break up any clumps with your
  fingers.
